Frick is ok. She gave permission to post so below is part of her email to me.

As for the fires, they were VERY close to our community, and some friends were in serious jeopardy. It was within walking distance from our house. We had a little break in the weather and a massive effort by all in the firefighting community kept damage to just the mountain areas. The tragic thing is the Verdugo Mountains are the largest natural habitat park in the United States which is entirely surrounded by city. The loss of wildlife must be horrendous -- mountain lion families, bears, deer, and untold birds and other wildlife. No matter which way they ran, there was little escape. Please feel free to share or forward this. I'm sorry to say my summer has been out of control and I've not been in touch with everyone, to my regret.

        Missing everyone,

        Thanks, Nina

I got my replacement blade awhile back but I haven't had cause to use the food processor so I didn't check it. After reading there may be a size problem I checked it. Sure enough, as Italiancook said, the new blade does not fit as snug as the old one. I, too, am keeping both until I see what happens with the new one. I never had a problem with the old one and my Cuisinart is at least 20 years old.

I grilled a ham and pineapple on Sunday. Green beans and corn for sides with the ham. Yesterday was beef tacos. I made guacamole to go with them.

I posted a scone recipe from janloew but I don't have the muffin recipe. It sounds like it is very versatile. Can you post it? Thanks.

The pizza man is on his way for tonight's dinner but earlier this week we had grilled pork chops and corn on the cob with potato salad. I also grilled up some Polish because I didn't get them last week and I really had a taste for them. Had macaroni salad with the Polish.

I have a banana chocolate chip coffee cake in the oven right now. It's supposed to be a copy cat of something served at Starbucks. This is a first bake for this recipe. It smells really good baking so I'm hoping the taste matches.

Burgers, brats and Italian sausage on the grill for the 4th. Probably will have leftovers for most of the rest of the week. Tonight - maybe polish on the grill. The vote is not in on dinner yet!

I baked a few things yesterday for the 4th. Chocolate chip cookies but with red white and blue M&M's instead of the chips.

I also make a brookie - half brownie and half chocolate chip cookie. It is a first time try so we'll see how it goes over.

It's grilling season for me. I grilled an eye of the round roast and some steaks. Plus some shrimp. Mushrooms and crunchy bread rounded things out.

My replacement arrived Monday. I submitted on line but I don't remember when exactly. Probably the week between Christmas and New Years. I kept getting emails with updates but no firm date for arrival. I was surprised to see it actually. I figured I was going to have to wait at least another month or so.

All the recipes I saved have been posted. I have lots of threads I haven't been able to work on since I got tendonitis in my wrist. I had to stop any activity that would aggravate it except for the most necessary and it has been a pain. I am slowly getting back in the swing of the things and I hope to be able to start posting the threads soon.

Zen did save the entire recipe collection, I believe in html format.

I found the below link to Eagle Brand Canada that has the recipe. I have some old Borden cookbooks as well. I didn't have a chance to check and see if they are the same but I will look later tonight.

I also found a recipe booklet that contains the recipe. I downloaded it and saved it as a pdf file. I'm not sure I can post the actual booklet here.
