We had snow the other day. It wasn't a whole lot but enough to have to deal with it. I started to shovel the driveway and then decided it was heavy enough and deep enough where it drifted to fire up the snow throw. However, I could not remove the gas cap, apparently is must have been slightly cross threaded (easy to do with the plastic threads). So I left it alone for a couple of days. Went out there today and took channel locks to the cap, I got the sucker off and the driveway cleared. It's supposed to get into the 40's for a few days later this week.

Aaron, I have used butter flavor shortening and it will give it a buttery taste but I can tell the difference between the artificial and real thing. But when I have used it, I have gotten compliments on the cookies. Yesterday, I used Nutiva organic which is a blend of Red Palm and Coconut oils. It has no butter flavor but the cookies have a good chocolate and vanilla flavor (I used double the amount of vanilla called for).

I made some pasta meat sauce yesterday so last night and tonight is spaghetti. I put in some chopped up celery, onion and carrot in the sauce. I was thinking it would be good with some eggplant and zucchini but I didn't have any.

Aaron, your biscuits and gingerbread house look good.

It's snowing and cold here, winds are expected to pick up. Earlier this week they said we could get up to 18 inches, they've brought down their estimate every day, so now they say up to 6 inches depending on location but it might be hard to measure due to drifting.

Today I baked chocolate chip cookies, Alton Brown's recipe, The Puffy.

I had my brother over yesterday and made a beef rib roast. Tonight I'll be making a stir fry with some of the leftovers.

BA, I enjoyed the video. I love watching candy making videos. Another family operated candy company on Youtube is Hercules Candies. I watch those videos all the time. If you're interested in seeing how image candy is made, check out Lofty Pursuits videos.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Chocomouse, I too have lost loved ones around the holidays and I know how trying it is.

I made a stir fry tonight consisting of carrots, celery, onion, mushrooms, broccoli, chicken, seasoned with garlic, ginger, sesame seed oil and soy sauce. Had it with brown rice.

I paid $4.89 today for a dozen of organic omega 3 eggs from Amazon. I checked my order history, in May of this year I paid $4.79 for the same eggs. A small increase.

The lowest price I could find on Amazon Fresh for eggs is $2.99 for a dozen of cage free, large white.

I made chicken loafs from ground chicken. Had one with pasta and cauliflower and broccoli.

I made a pot of split pea soup. So dinner was soup and a burger.
