BakerAunt, nothing is made to last, it seems, except my 1958 pink and black bathroom which I love. Lol Glad you got the cabinets fixed.
Used up misc fish in the freezer. Grouper, yellowfin tuna, and shrimp with fries and salad.
Whenever we have pancakes, I put maple syrup in my fireking glass measuring cup and warm it up in the microwave. Keeps the pancakes nice and hot.Yesterday baked KAF sandwich rye bread. Nice and soft. Didn't put caraway seeds or dill seeds in because my husband doesn't like them. I love caraway seeds. Sigh I'm thinking of getting ground caraway and using that next time for more flavor. I need more sandwich sprinkle (great mix) from penzeys anyway. Time for an order.
Hamburgers and baked beans.
Italiancook, found this recipe for making pickle juice.
Made my buttermilk pound cake today with 4 oz cream cheese and cut the butter a bit. Used cake flour instead of ap. Really good.
Italiancook, I've never seen pickle juice for sale but you never know!Fettuccini alfredo tonight using bow tie pasta (they're so cute) instead of fettuccine. Garlic bread, too.
Speedy recovery, Mike.
My friend's 70th birthday is tomorrow. I was planning on making a 6" maple pecan cake with cream cheese frosting. Yesterday, she got a free cake from stop&shop--pecan praline (they're the size of a giant cupcake). So, now I scrapped that idea and was going to make blondies. But since I have 2 bananas ready to go, I'll make her banana walnut bread. 🤷‍♀️Boneless roast leg of lamb, oven fried potatoes, and carrots. We'll have bearnaise sauce on our lamb and mom mint jelly. Have a loaf of italian bread left from 2 loaves I baked on Sunday. Shorty's gonna be happy to have some lamb later. Snowing here! 🥳🥳🥳
In case anyone is interested in the recipe. I prefer Michelle Urvater's blondies which I bake often.

Cool before cutting into squares.
A woman I used to work with sent me a recipe for chocolate chunk cranberry brownies. Mom and my husband like them. They're good but too much stuff in them for me. They're blondies with choc chunks, pecans, coconut and craisins. It called, of course, for brown sugar which I have tons of with most of it being hard or sandy. Then I remembered I have a vacuum sealer! Duh. I softened it all up in a Tupperware container with several slices of bread and then packed and vacuum sealed it.
Cwcdesign, what did the dr say??
Wow! Everyone's baking sounds and looks delicious.
I made oatmeal raisin cookies, per request, for someone I worked with at the library. It's her birthday tomorrow. Also, a batch of SoNo bakery oatmeal chocolate chip coconut cookies. They're soooooo good! Since I had walnut filling left over, made a Hungarian nut roll today, too. Whew, I'm done. Wish I had the inclination to vacuum! LolMaking our traditional lasagna for January 1st.
