We had BBQ chicken with gravy to go over rice and macaroni and cheese.
Tonight we had homemade Sloppy Joe's over mashed potato and garden pea salad.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes I really enjoyed my day.
Tonight we had fried cubed pork,seasoned green beans and a baked sweet potato.The pie I baked the other day has held up well,the meringue weeped very little.
Salmon patties,cheese grits and coleslaw.Today was my 68th Birthday and I feel blessed, nothing special today got lots of calls and messages.Flowers from our son and wife and my Granddaughters called and we had good conversations so I'll go to bed with a smile on my heart.
The pie turned out great and cut nicely. My mom always made the best lemon meringue pie with condensed milk but mine never set up very good,the recipe I made today was cooked filling with cornstarch and flour.The recipe is

I blind baked a pie crust from the freezer and made a lemon pie. new recipe for me , we'll see how it sets and will cut later tonight.

I have made this before and made again today really good bars and no corn meal at all.It is very moist and chewy bars almost like a pecan brownie but no chocolate.I ground my pecans to almost pecan meal and they were delicious.My niece came today for a visit so I sent them home with them.

I defrosted a pie crust from freezer and made a coconut custard pie ,looking forward to that tonight.
Shopping yesterday at Target and found eggs 18 count for $4.79 and I got 8 oz. bottle of imitation vanilla for 69 cents.
