A few hours ago, I got one of those and just deleted it.
We love those Zantes currants and I buy 5# bags from Country Life Natural Foods. I use them in Buttermilk Currant scones. They are nice also in my steamed persimmon puddings. I've read in old, old cookbooks that many cooks then used currants in their steamed and boiled plum puddings.
Here is a highly rated frosting recipe for brownies:
I never found a place that I was happy with to place the bread machine. I'd even thought of buying a cart to keep it on but never followed through with that. I bought it when my husband retired from teaching, thinking I'd start baking our breads more but that never happened. Our house is so cold in cold months that it is a challenge to get dough to rise. I have had to set rising dough very near our woodstove for much success and there is a lot of action going on in that area with stove loading and ash removal and wood packing in. Seems like my things are always in the way in that area.
The price was $ 119.99 from KAF but I had quite a bit of bonus bucks or somesuch name that reduced the amount I actually paid.
In 2006, I bought this very model of Zo. It is still in the box never used. I do recall that folks had browning issues and pale crusts. They contacted KAF and Zo and they told them to place foil on the underside of the window. This was to deflect heat down onto the crusts and brown them better.
I think this was quite an issue as Zo later added a heating element in the lid to remedy this pale crusts issue.
Hope this helps you as you use your new bargain!
My husband loves steel cut oats for breakfast and they take a long time to get done. DL from the BC gave us a tip long ago for doing them overnight. She put the oats, boiling water and maybe a dab of salt in a thermos and lets them 'cook' overnight in the thermos.
I place 1 cup of Bob's Red Mill steel cut oats in a wide mouth thermos, add 3 cups of boiling water from the microwave and a little salt in the thermos, seal and it is ready when we get up. We each have a nice serving and some are left for the next morning. I make this almost every night until I get enough ahead to skip a day or two.
I order groceries and other items each week from Walmart.com and get a 54 oz. pouch of steel cut oats for $ 4.98 from BRM. I get free NextDay delivery by FedEx with a $ 35.00 order on almost all that I buy. It is a great deal for us as Walmart is a 50 mi. round trip.
When I mentioned Twin2's Kaiser roll recipe, I forgot to say she owned her own bakery and worked there for many long years. When she got older and could not continue the pace, she sold the bakery to a person she thought would make a go of it. Sadly, that was not the case...the longtime customers of the bakery just never were pleased with the new owner's offerings and the bakery did not survive. Twin2 was heart broken as her many wonderful offerings were always sold out and she had so many standing orders all those many years.
Several BCers used this recipe and always liked the rolls:
Twin2 was from Germany.
October 17, 2019 at 3:28 pm in reply to: Penzey’s Chicken Base Recall and other non-Penzey’s products w/ Cooked Chicken #18684Eight days or so ago, I saw a large recall for Aldi, Kroger, Target, Giant and Food Lion for Listeria contaminated chicken salad and other fully cooked chicken products. You can find that info searching on Aldi's recall.
As soon as I got the Penzeys recall email, I looked thru all 191 items and did not see the Aldi's recall or the Target, etc. items shown.
I did not see Listeria listed in the Penzeys listed 191 items. I searched on Listeria last week and it can live in oxygen-free conditions and said it can take up to 70 days to produce illness and that it is worse than botulism.
I buy lots of Great Value canned chicken and make chicken salad twice a week in warm weather months. I'll keep checking for that item to see if it comes up.

A birding friend of mine lives in west central WI and she has the most feeders I have ever seen...she has shown us videos of the feeders just covered with hummers...the sound is unbelievable when they all want a chance for the sugar water. It would be safe to say she has over 100 hummers at a time crawling all over the feeders.
The fiesty litte rufous is my favorite. We still have our local hummers here working the rose of sharon in our yard.
