Happy day after Christmas. It was a quiet day for the 3 of us. Like chocomouse, we woke up to 61 degrees here in the mid hudson valley and the 14 inches of snow we got last week is gone. Got 1.5 inches of rain. Took Shorty to the park, had some mulled wine, knit for a bit, watched White Christmas on Netflix. All in all, a fine day.

Per mom's request, Christmas dinner is lobster tail. I'll make clarified butter, fries, and coleslaw.

Yesterday brought some Christmas cookies over to my friend and left them on her porch because she was feeling a bit ill. She had a covid on Friday and heard today she is positive for covid. This suxs!

Lol, skeptic7. Christmas is not a time for will power. Just eat them up and make more!!

Hi, skeptic7. We ended up with 14.5 inches. Still alot on the ground but melting a little. I have the front walk and a big driveway. Yeah, stollens are finished for the year. Now is the only time I can find fresh yeast so I made some to freeze and sent some to my brother. I just fold mine over a bit before the bottom edge. Not too many people like stollen and lump it in with fruitcake. I actually like fruitcake but it gets a bad rap.

We had ravioli and meatballs. Christmas eve we always do hors d'oeuvres.

I would love the recipe BakerAunt, if you have time to post it. I have anise extract, non melting sugar as well as confectioners sugar. I have some candied orange and citron from nuts.com. not sure if that will be good enough.

RiversideLen, when I make chocolate chip cookies it's always Alton's the puffy. They're the best.
BakerAunt, I've never made pfeffernusse but would love to. We always had them at Christmas from the bakery.
Baked some chocolate chips for mom, shortbread cookies with a cherry in the middle for my husband and the cream cheese cookies. Had Johnny Mathis singing Christmas songs on the stereo while it flurried outside. 🥰❄ dropped off some cookies for my friend.

Skeptic7, it slowed down around 9 so I started clearing. What a bear! The snow was moderately heavy and high. Took me 2 hours. Ugh anyway, it stopped snowing and the sun came out. Still cold out, though, and going down to the teens tonight.

I always have powdered milk on hand, too. Use some when making yogurt and bread.

Yeah, send some pie my way! Looks good. Hamburgers tonight. Cookie baking this weekend. Looking forward to it!

14 inches so far. Snow supposed to stop by 10. Shoveled a path on the patio to the lawn for the dog. The snow is taller than him! Had coffee and stollen and going out soon to snowblow. Looks pretty!

Joan, I'm glad it all worked out. Take one day at a time, that's my motto. I bet we don't get all this snow. They rev everyone up and nothing happens. Lol

Beef stroganoff. I'm tired of thinking what to cook and then cooking! 😂🤣
