There are still several BCer's recipes that are not here yet, as well as several threads full of recipes.
I'm sure Jozy will help you one of these days. She and her husband have been at their cabin for some much needed R & R. I talked to her a while back as she'd sent me a birthday card and I thanked her. I know she hates to visit with anyone while on Whidbey Island as it eats her cell phone service up. She told me she'd fill me in on her husband's cancer treatment progress when she got back home to her desktop and I have not heard from her yet. She has no internet service at the island, just her cell phone. Cancer treatments are rough on everyone and they needed to get away...she said the getaway had really been good for her husband.
Happy, Happy Birthday! Hoping you enjoyed your special day immensely, KidPizza!
Yesterday, after BakerAunt's mention of the Borden booklets, I dug out my old one from 1956...Borden's Eagle Brand, 70 Magic Recipes.
It has many of the same recipes and pictures as the one rottiedogs gave a link for above. The Magic Lemon Meringue Pie is the same in my booklet except the way sugar is written in the meringue section.
My grandma made probably more lemon meringue pies than anyone in our area. She worked in area restaurants thru the years and she made the pies for the restaurants. She made cooked lemon filling and also used the filling for white layer cakes filling. It was a common sight to see her lemon meringue pies at any visit to her house.
Eagle Brand no longer comes in the 15 oz. can, like so many other canned goods today, it has been down-sized.
I heard that NE was getting hammered but could not see the map to see where the storms were.
We are always braced for bad storms on June 11. Yesterday we celebrated our 50th anniversary. It was so hot the day we got married the icing was about to slide off the wedding cake and the flowers were needing help. After we left the area, a horrible storm with heavy winds blew thru. There was a large tree down across the road to my parent's place so they had to be creative to get home.
It was plenty hot here yesterday but no storms but we usually have some bad ones that day.
My mom always made ours with ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and apple cider vinegar so that is what I use...no recipe or proportions, we just do it.
Yesterday, I read about ketchup brands to see if they have garlic and some do and some don't.
Toady, I looked at Miracle Whip and it contains dried garlic. I make our own thousand island dressing using Miracle Whip, ketchup, pickle relish and some sugar. It is so much better than store bought.
This will take you to some recipes here on this site:

Hope they will help you!
I found this page that we can watch for updates on Cindy's arrangements:

I love Miracle Whip and the newer one just wasn't the same. Will be looking for the new 'old' one around here. Last night, after reading this post I had a Miracle Whip sandwich...just MW on bread.
Hi everyone! I try to read all the posts each day to keep up with all of you.
My sister died on Good Friday, age 63, so we have been getting ready for her graveside services and such.
She had breast cancer and skin cancer and had been thru a lot of pain and such since 2014. So many chemo treatments and lots more so it is a blessing for her to not suffer.
She was my only sibling and the last of my home family as my mom died at 63 and my dad died at 68.
We're waiting to get the arrangements all completed; the holiday slowed things down with cremation and the like.
Hi everyone...I've been spending lots of time watching the bald eagle cam with the baby eaglet about two-three weeks from fledge. Southwest Florida Eagle Cam.
I read all the posts here every day. I did not recall this recipe. I searched here on Breakfast Loaf and on cottage cheese and did not find it. I Googled Breakfast Loaf with cottage cheese and found one but it had dried or candied fruit in it and that did not seem to be it.
I'm not on Pinterest but I think I saw mention of this on one of the Google hits.
It is not just a salad bar issue...they make up/prepare all the lettuce in the kitchen and it is all treated with the same chemicals. And it is not just iceberg lettuce but many types of salad greens and other veggies that get the preservatives.
About 30 years ago, I ate at a salad bar in a Bonanza steakhouse and had severe stomach issues for days after. Came to find out that nitrates and nitrites were used on lettuce, etc. to keep things fresher and it causes stomach distress in many folks. These same things are used in many deli type meats and such.
Not long ago, Dr. Oz had a segment on what all is found in many salad bar items and not just lettuce. An antifreeze additive is found in many salad bar items and beyond. Propylene glycol is one thing widely used in keeping salad items safer these days. Yuck!!! We never eat out and have not done so for longer than anyone would believe if I told it here. I don't enjoy stomach issues and there are many running loose out there whether from help that doesn't understand food safety issues or from chemicals that do not belong in our food.

Belated Happy Birthday wishes to you, BakerAunt...for your special day on January 28!!
Your spice cake sounds wonderful, one of my favorites!
This has nothing to do with Aaron's pastry cream question on the recent show...but long ago, PJH of KAF discovered a quick and easy pastry cream that is quite acceptable.
Use 1 box (4 serving size) of INSTANT vanilla pudding and use cream instead of the milk called for on the box of pudding.
