Very nice tomato plants RiversideLen!
Went this morning to local farmers market so I cooked fried chicken, peas & okra, green butter beans, potato salad and corn bread.I got a seedless watermelon that was so sweet and very good already got that cut up in the fridge for the week also. We'll be eating off this for a few days for sure.
I made fresh chicken salad for a sandwich and chips.
Chocomouse the puddingwiches sounds good.I love cold desserts!I made fresh chicken salad for a sandwich and chips.
My pound cake turned out great and I've posted recipe.I do want to say the recipe originally called for 2&1/2 sticks of butter but I added 3 as my other pound cakes call for 3 and it's one of the best I've ever made, pound cakes are my favorite!I used the pan grease and floured that also so it gave it a little thicker crust.About the time I was ready to add the flour we had a call to pick up my truck from getting the air fixed so I just covered the bowl for that time maybe 35 minutes.I had no idea if it would affect the cake or not so when I finished it up and baked it it's so good.If ya'll like a good pound cake give it a try.
The last of the BBQ for sandwiches is now gone!!!!Yay!
I just baked my favorite Cold Oven Pound Cake, can't wait to cut it.
Haven't been cooking much, eating out of the freezer.I made pulled pork sandwiches from BBQ that was frozen and chips.
Navlys I freeze stuff with stinky smells too till trash day.
I grilled chicken breasts marinated in Italian dressing and we had a baked potato with that, plenty left for sandwiches.
That's a staple in the summertime on our tables too! When I make it I don't measure but a little oil, white vinegar, salt & pepper and a little sugar with cukes, onions and tomatoes and bell pepper if I have them.

Tonight I baked a pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots.
BakerAunt I use leftover dry lima beans, the meat that I've seasoned the beans is usually ham or ham hocks,if it's hocks I pick only the lean out for the soup.I use a little chicken stock with chopped up onions, celery, tomatoes and carrots.Boil that till the vegetables are done then throw in leftover lima beans
and if I have cooked rice I add that and let this simmer just a little, seasonings is salt, pepper and a little garlic. We love lima beans and this is what I make with the leftovers.I only had about 2 cups of beans left but after everything is put in it makes a small pot. It's just me and my husband so I've cut way back in the amount of food I use to cook.Today I cleaned out the fridge using leftovers to make lima bean soup.
Yes, strange to me too.I remember reading this awhile back but I don't think I'd do it.
