The recipe is on the KAF site. It just has a different name. It is called Mini Scones and is a 2009 blog post from PJ Hamel.

It looks pretty tasty! I do have the mini scone pan and they are perfectly sized for a little snack. I don't have a specific recipe, just whatever I am making at the time. I like to put a basket out of assorted mini's for brunch.
I preordered on Amazon. You can see a few pages there and it looked interesting. I most likely do not actually need it but KAF books are always informative like Mike said. I do have a book by Nancy Silverton - La Brea Bakery. I've made a few things from it and will again. Claire Saffritz is a NY Times food writer. I subscribe to the recipes only and I have several of her recipes saved to try. I recognize Ken Forkish but I don't remember why right this second. The rest I do not but the two I did was enough to push it to the go ahead and order it list. I will share impressions and what I'm going to try first.
I've used this method before as well. Cornstarch is what I used when I made Orange Chicken or Beef & Broccoli. The meat is tender and crispy. Definitely works. I will use it for stir fry the next time I make it.
I was curious as I never heard of orange extract in these cookies. I found a couple of links for the actual back of the package recipe. There is a Nestle recipe and a Quaker Oats recipe. The Nestle recipe is the one that called for orange extract originally. One is an image of the back of the Nestle packaging and the other is a snip from a Nestle magazine ad.
I talked to my resident Mr. Fix It and the news is not good for repair. The only hope is that the beaters themselves are the issue. There is supposed to "ears" on them so they click into place.
Check to see if they are worn or broken. If they are not then it is the latching mechanism and there is no way to fix that. Which is sad because it relegates the mixer to a landfill. Small hand appliances are not usually made to be fixed. I am lucky because Mr. Fix It enjoys a challenge and if it doesn't go back together nothing is lost. I still have to buy a new one. But occasionally I get lucky. My ancient steam iron did get fixed but it is of a vintage where that was still possible. Same with our vacuum cleaners. I have two ancient Hoovers that I refuse to replace because nothing on the market now is 1/4 as good. I am also fortunate that there is a vacuum repair place not roo far away that we can get parts from.Detroit pizza for us tonight. The dough is mixing as I'm writing this. It is 2hr rise then a 30 minute rest before it can go in the oven. Plenty of time to dice up the cheese!
I made cornbread and Polish Kolocz - a yeasted cheese bread.
This week is even busier. I made boneless pork roast with baked squash and cheesy mashed potatoes. I also made a rotisserie chicken in the air fryer with corn and cornbread. There is also a roasted boneless turkey breast for lunch sandwiches.
It has been very busy in the kitchen. We had cabbage rolls, Hatch green chili stew and stuffed Melrose peppers. The Hatch chilies and Melrose peppers are seasonal so I stashed some in the freezer for future.
Len - so true about the tiny shrimp on Chicago pizzas. I discovered them on a Friday in Lent when just cheese pizza wasn't going to do. Seems like that is only time I have it that way. I should remember it more often as it is pretty tasty.
We have seen fireflies since the end of June but not as many as I have previously. They are a great source of entertainment here because the goofy dog chases them and attempts to catch them. So far he has not been successful.
The grocery store one is for sure true. They just rearranged the local Meijer here not that long ago and it still makes no sense how they decided what to put where.
My deepest condolences Joan. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Wishing you a very happy birthday Cass!
This is so very cool. I have something similar that I use at work that calculates gross margin that I thought I could adapt at some point time permitting. I never did get around to it but now I don't have to.
Thank you for sharing!
