Oh, chocomouse, I pray you can get your vaccine!! It's so hard to get an appt. Hopefully the roads will be plowed.

Just made a bottle of gluhwein and drinking a cup. 😋 I've been googling and did see Dorie's recipe for leckerli and thought it looked like lebkuchen. Thanks for the link, Bakeraunt. Saves me typing for it again. There were also recipes for Lebkuchengewurz (lebkuchen spices). I have all the ingredients plus crystallized ginger which I plan to use. Still had a little gingerbread dough in the freezer and sliced it for cookies. Thanks all for your input. Supposed to snow tonight, monday, tuesday. Gonna try a lebkuchen one day.

Cool that you lived in Germany, chocomouse. I bet you went to the Christmas markets. That's something I'd like to visit. There are a lot of recipes online, some use honey, some no flour, almonds, hazelnuts, different spices, fruits, wafers, etc. I think I'll start with kaf. I love gingerbread and spice type cakes. Maybe this weekend while it's snowing. Should go well with mulled wine! 😊

Cvs got vaccines yesterday and I was trying to get on their website. After 2 hours, managed to get mom a vaccine on Valentine's day and the 2nd a month from then. Couldn't get an appt for my husband and myself. I really want him to get it because he has a lot of underlying conditions. Nightmare the way this is rolling out. More vaccines on the horizon.

That's the truth, cwcdesign. I just opened a 32 oz of the Nielsen Massey's that I've had for over a yr plus I made a little homemade a couple months ago. I have a small bottle of tahitian that I only use for vanilla cake so the flavor comes thru. I'm set for a while. Prices are crazy. Let us know how the beanilla is.

BakerAunt, nothing is made to last, it seems, except my 1958 pink and black bathroom which I love. Lol Glad you got the cabinets fixed.

Used up misc fish in the freezer. Grouper, yellowfin tuna, and shrimp with fries and salad.
Whenever we have pancakes, I put maple syrup in my fireking glass measuring cup and warm it up in the microwave. Keeps the pancakes nice and hot.

Yesterday baked KAF sandwich rye bread. Nice and soft. Didn't put caraway seeds or dill seeds in because my husband doesn't like them. I love caraway seeds. Sigh I'm thinking of getting ground caraway and using that next time for more flavor. I need more sandwich sprinkle (great mix) from penzeys anyway. Time for an order.

Made my buttermilk pound cake today with 4 oz cream cheese and cut the butter a bit. Used cake flour instead of ap. Really good.
Italiancook, I've never seen pickle juice for sale but you never know!

Fettuccini alfredo tonight using bow tie pasta (they're so cute) instead of fettuccine. Garlic bread, too.

                                  Speedy recovery, Mike.
My friend's 70th birthday is tomorrow. I was planning on making a 6" maple pecan cake with cream cheese frosting. Yesterday, she got a free cake from stop&shop--pecan praline (they're the size of a giant cupcake). So, now I scrapped that idea and was going to make blondies. But since I have 2 bananas ready to go, I'll make her banana walnut bread. 🤷‍♀️
