Cwcdesign I know it makes you feel good for your son to bake with you from New Zealand, wonderful how you can facetime from so far away.
I got my sourdough starter out a couple days ago it had sat so long in the fridge it took about 4 feedings to get up to par.I made a new recipe from Baking Sense "Sourdough Sandwich Bread with a soft crust"by Eileen Gray.Y'all would be proud of me I actually weighed the ingredients.I made this up this morning and panned it up about 6:30 PM.It went together easy so I'll see how it turns out,I may make another batch tonight and let it rise all night on the counter.
Oh my gosh Len I can't imagine dealing with all that.I complain about the heat sometime but I'll take that over the snow.I'm sure it's what you get use to.Bless all y'all that has to deal with snow.

Thanks Mike for the link to the Kringle will be trying that.
Well I tried something today I didn't have anymore pineapple juice to make the Hawaiian rolls but I had some peach juice from sliced canned peaches so I made the rolls maybe I'll call them Georgia rolls lol. They turned out just as good and light as the other ones and I made 12 rolls each around 2 oz. or a little over and made 6 rolls just a little bigger and placed them on a cookie sheet, when they rose I pressed down the middle and made a small well and filled it with beaten cream cheese and I added confectioners sugar,an egg,a little lemon juice and a heaping teaspoon of cornstarch, filled the wells and put a teaspoon of strawberry preserves on top brushed the edges with egg wash and baked about 15-20 minutes when they were baked I brushed them with butter and made a drizzle of confectioners sugar a little butter melted and a tad of milk to make it thin enough to drizzle and they looked so pretty just like a cream cheese danish.Haven't ate one yet will let you know how they taste. The rolls I made the other day stayed soft and tender ate the last one today.

Bless all of you in the artic freeze.Today I made a pot of vegetable hamburger soup with pimento cheese sandwiches, good on this cold nasty day.
Thanks BakerAunt I was very happy with the rolls, they were a little big I could have cut them down smaller and gotten more but I was just trying them and didn't know how they'd turn out. When I portioned them the recipe said form in balls one recipe said to grease counter and cup and roll,I tried that they were sticking so I lightly sprinkled counter and dropped the dough ball on then cupped in my hand and that worked fine. They are really some of the lightest rolls I've ever made.Would be wonderful sliders.
