Poor Aaron. I feel your pain. I was a DBA and then a staff programmer at IBM for 27 yrs supporting the mfg line. I was on call 24/7 every single day including holidays. Ugh. I don't even want to think about it ever again! Glad I don't have to do that anymore.
BakerAunt, the mini pizzelle maker is cute and your crackers would be just the right size. I have 2 of the large electric pizzelle makers. I should make some pizzelles this week. Thanks for giving me the idea!
Hmmm, don't see the pain de mie on sale, BakerAunt.
BakerAunt, I also made yogurt the other day -- 2 qts. I still like Dannon the best. I usually use fat free milk but sometimes 1%. This time I had 2% in the fridge and used that. Wonderfully creamy when you're used to fat free.
Joan, my husband had hotdogs and chili for dinner last night, too. Mom and I ate the leftover ziti. I put pesto on mine. Yum!
Tonight is meatloaf with a salad or vegetable and probably mashed potatoes.Giving my husband a haircut today. Not my favorite thing to do. My 88 yr old mom offered to cut my hair. Um, no thank you!!! This is the woman who needs new glasses and has an eye dr appt in a week and a half. Lol. I'll wait for the salons to open hopefully next week.
Ciabatta again!
How could I forget keeping the bird and hummingbird feeders stocked plus the birdbaths! I feed the chipmunks, too. Lol
Hiya, cwcdesign. I'm still on the fence with the bakers rewards. Leaning toward no. I'm pretty stocked up at the moment so I'll wait until holiday time to see if they have free shipping. I'll check out thrive market, too. Thanks for your input! And welcome back!!
Italian cook, sometimes I wish I didn't like bread! I could eat a whole loaf with butter and honey. You should try the ciabatta recipe. Quick, easy, delicious. π I mean, what the heck else is there to do during the lockdown.π
Made those ciabatta rolls this morning with the 00 flour I bought from nuts.com. They are very good and crisp, tender inside. I like that the recipe makes a small amount, was easy, fast with no overnight biga when you don't have the time. I would make it again.
Chocomouse, you're lucky to live so close! My husband and I visited kaf twice a long time ago -- at least 25 yrs. One time we stayed at the Norwich Inn and had a fabulous meal at the restaurant there. I don't remember what we ate but I do remember it was wonderful. Lol I was like a kid in a candy shop at the kaf store. Bought a lot of stuff and delicious pastries. They had things in the store that they didn't have in their catlg. It was fun. I doubt if we'll ever get back there. πͺ
BA, I have alot of the gadgets, too, including the mini spatula/spoonula which, I also, use frequently. I can get 10 lb bags of kaf ap at BJs and white wheat at stopnshop but they don't have any ww now. I think I still have 5 lbs in the freezer. I also buy the parchment, vital wheat gluten, lecithin, dried fruit, saf yeast to name a few but they last a long time for me. I'll have to think about the bakers rewards as I don't need anything at the moment. Thanks for your comments and thoughts.
KimThanks alot, chocomouse! I think I'm in zone 5b, Hyde Park, NY (mid Hudson valley). I definitely want to try it. I buy garlic at the farmer's market in the summer so I'll use that to plant. Fun!
Yeah, they do have a lot of mixes now which I rarely buy although some of the cake mixes are good in a pinch.
