Chili and hot dogs, cinnamon roll for dessert.
Cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing cooling, waiting on the coffee.
Chocomouse my Granddaddy use to grind the sugar cane that the stalks were fed through the grinder and pressed all the juice out then they put it in a big syrup kettle and kept it cooking for awhile skimming the foam off and after it was cooked bottled it up,man that was some good stuff.Several places around us still do this but it's generally done in November around Thanksgiving. When my granddaddy first did this the grinder was powered by a mule ,he walked around and round in a circle to make the grinder go,now most people use a motor with a belt to run the grinder. Memories...big smile here.I would love to see y'alls setup.
Chocomouse my Granddaddy use to make cane syrup so I know that's lots of work but so rewarding. It must be nice to get that warm syrup on some pancakes!Happy syrup making to you!
Neither Penzey's or Trader Joe's are in our town.Biggest thing here is Sam's.Wish we had a Cosco's nearest one is in Tallahassee.
Tonight we had stew beef,I browned it then made gravy with onions and baked it for 2 hours,it was very tender, with left over black eyed peas and fresh potato salad.Texas Roadhouse tonight.
We had salmon patties, cheese grits and left over garden pea salad.
Today I used up leftovers to make chicken-n-dressing,cranberry sauce and green beans.
Today I fried cubed pork, black eyed peas, rice and buttermilk corn bread and sliced thin raw onions soaked in vinegar we like to eat with the peas on top of rice.
Glad to know you're OK.I've seen some devastating pictures on TV and online.Prayers for those affected by this.

Chocolate is good for everything!
Happy Birthday to your husband BakerAunt and I wish him well!
Today I used left overs and made lima bean soup, only having to add one carrot, one rib celery, half an onion and 2 bullion cubes. The left over rice and tomato gravy made it just thick enough on this cool damp day.
Glad you're back online BakerAunt.
