Tonight we had spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic bread,jello and cottage cheese for a snack.

Today we're having cold plates,chicken salad,green salad with just lettuce and tomatoes stirred with mayonnaise,deviled eggs,beets and crackers.Jello and cottage cheese for later on tonight.

I always save my bacon fat and use it to season vegetables like squash,beans fresh and dried.

Today I baked a Apfelkuchen:German Apple Cake from One Acre Vintage-Pumpkin Patch Mtn. By Jennifer.
It was baked in a spring form pan with a batter base and apples on top.Mine didn't look like the picture,my apples seemed to be dry when it came out of the oven but as it sat it became very good it was sprinkled lightly with powder sugar.The base around the edges cooked almost like the crunchy part of a pound cake,which is my favorite part the crunchy top.It's OK,I used 4 apples that needed to be ate.So we have coffee cake.

Chocomouse I had a wonderful childhood growing up with lots of cousins.We had to hunt in the woods and around the place for stuff to play with,cans,we had sifted that sand with a torn up screen but I wanted that sifter.We use to play with tree moss for a shawl and long hair (I can't remember getting red bugs but I bet we did from the moss),making tobacco stick play houses,wonderful times.Yes I can laugh and have a big smile.
