We used the grilled rounds split in half as buns for grilled kielbasa with roasted peppers and onions.

I made another batch of the grilled asiago rounds this afternoon, but this time I used shredded cheddar and 2 teaspoons of Penzey's Foxpoint seasoning. We like these better than the asiago. I'm hoping my photo is small enough to attach. Nope, guess it is not.

I made a rhubarb cobbler today. The recipe is a keeper.

We had asparagus frittata and English muffins for supper tonight. My husband also had a generous piece of rhubarb cobbler. And then asked if he should cut more rhubarb before he goes to work at 6:15 tomorrow morning -- obviously, he loved the cobbler.

Dinner tonight was ribs, asparagus from the garden, leftover broccoli salad, and the grilled asiago rounds. Excellent!

Today I made Grilled Asiago Rounds (KABC recipe) which I have not made for several years. They very crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside; I'm pretty sure they'll lose that crispness by tomorrow. I think they need a little more flavor, so next time in addition to the cheese in the dough, I'll add garlic and some herbs. I think we'll try cutting some in half and using them like a burger bun.

One of the many events at the festival! My favorite is the sheep herding, with the amazing dogs and their handlers. Unfortunately, we are too busy in our booth to see much of the other events going on. It was nice to chat with Skeptic again!

Joan, my stove is from when we built back in 1985. I hate thinking about needing to get a new one. The new electronic things take me forever to learn how to use; new car a year ago, new computer in January, etc. But once you learn how to make it work for you, you'll love it.

Today I made a bean salad and a broccoli salad to take on my trip tomorrow. I made extra to leave for my husband to eat while I'm gone. It will be a nice change for him instead of a can of beans and a hot dog.

Home from travels, back to baking, but leaving again tomorrow! Today I made the KABC "Bake of the Month" Brownie Cookies. It took forever to make, of course, since it is really just making choc chip cookies and brownies and baking them one on top of the other in a muffin tin. Making 2 recipes is time consuming. The only real problem I had with the recipe was the instruction to use a "generous" tablespoon scoop of the brownie batter; after I had filled about 10 wells, I realized I would not have enough batter for 24. Same with the cookie dough. Aside from that, they are ordinary flavor wise. However, I do not like to bite into a crisp cookie on a soft brownie. I won't be making these again.

I made two loaves of an oatmeal-whole wheat bread. I also baked up a couple dozen cookies that I had shaped and stashed in the freezer - chocolate with mint chips and lemon. I'll leave these for my husband while I am in Maryland for the week.

Our dinner tonight was salads - seafood, bean, and cole slaw. A poor choice for such a raw, cold, rainy evening, but planning is tight as I will be traveling again for the next week, this time to Maryland. I'll hopefully meet up with Skeptic again!

Today I'd planned to make Harvest Grains breads, using the KAF grain mix, but I couldn't find the mostly used bag of grains in the pantry, so I grabbed the bag of Super10 Blend. I used 3 cups of that, and 2 cups of AP flour, and added sunflower and flax seeds, plus some other odds and ends of grains and seeds. The rise was fine and it smelled great. When I returned the remainder of the Super10 flour to the pantry, I spied the bag of Harvest Grains sitting on another shelf among my boxes of Keurig cups! Oh, well, there's always tomorrow.

I also made a batch of cinnamon chip scones, sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar on top, in the mini scone pan. They smell wonderful and taste even better!

Saturday dinner here was ham, cheddar, and veggie omelets with English muffins.
