Yesterday, I picked two cucumbers from our tubs.
Glad you found it, Len!
I heard on the radio today about Donut Day tomorrow. They said the # 1 favorite in the US is the glazed donut. I was surprised. They said the highest donut consumption is in Canada. I think the US was second.
The recipe that I used was the cook milk and flour, let completely cool, add sugar and Crisco or butter and beat for at least eight minutes so granulated sugar was not gritty.
I order almost weekly from walmart.com since my husband's stroke last July. Prices are the same as in store and I don't have to get someone to watch him or to make the trip 25 mi. one way.
I get free 2-day shipping by FedEx for a $ 35.00 order. It has been a godsend for me. One of his friends has a lot of doctor appointments in Evansville, IN and he gets cold stuff, canned goods, bread and such for us really cheap at Aldi's.
I will likely always shop at walmart.com even when husband gets fully rehabilitated...it is just too much of a bargain to not use.
At 7:30 this morning we'd had over two inches since 5:00A and there has been much more rain since that time. Many roads are under water and flood warnings are out almost everywhere around for miles.
More storms/rain for later today, tomorrow and Saturday.
Our son lives near and works in St. Louis and they are expecting the second highest flooding in history, just under the worst in 1993. Fourteen feet above flood stage yesterday.
Walmart bought jet.com in 2016 for 3.3 billion to have a better chance of competing with amazon.com.

I bought for a long time from jet.com and loved their business. Walmart was flagging with logistics and warehousing issues and they knew jet.com had it down pat...it has been a huge success for Walmart.
Here is a recipe from SarahH from the old and new BCs...for Pecan Tassies baked in muffin tins:

Scroll way down for the recipe below her story.
We are at 30" of rain for the year with 42" the normal yearly rainfall. Many days of rain are in the forecast for the next seven days.
My husband rolled out in his wheelchair and planted three tubs with cucumbers and summer squash a few weeks ago. There are small squash and the cukes look great. I have planted twelve tomato plants and have one more to go. I have some pepper plants to get in yet.
He went to our high school FFA greenhouse and got the plants. It was the next to last day of sales so selection was not that great. I looked up the peppers that had two tags and I think they are hot ones. I will give them to a local boy that loves them. That will just leave me with three sweet banana peppers this year.
He bought a pack of five little things that I have no idea what they are. It will be fun to see what develops with them.
The FFA has such nice sturdy plants and we look forward each year to getting them. We got them on 4/26 so I have had to move them outside during warm days a lot and keep them watered.
Many thanks KidPizza for remembering me and BakerAunt for letting everyone know.
My son called me today, saying Happy Birthday. I said I'm 70 today and he said that's a big number then we both laughed. Where does the time go? He was 49 two days ago.
Thanks also to Mike, Joan, RiversideLen, skeptic7, and chocomouse for the kind wishes.
I planted some tomato plants today and have a few peppers and a tomato yet to plant. We are so wet from all the rains that it is more like mudding the plants in.
Cute idea!
