How was the fair? What did you buy? I'm hoping to go to Rhinebeck this October. I passed last year but looking forward to it this year.

I'm a knitter and my friend and I were just discussing the topic of it not getting very cold anymore. I knit myself a warm sweater last year and never wore it because the winter was so mild. I've knit tons of hats, mittens, scarves, shawls, sweaters and a few pairs of socks. I'm in the Mid Hudson Valley and it used to get very cold and snow alot but not anymore. I hope we get snow this winter!!

          Happy belated birthday, BA.
Well, my husband ended up in the ER Saturday evening with pneumonia. He's still in the hospital. I've been eating leftover moo shu pork (finished it last night), cheese doodles and ice cream! Looks like another ice cream dinner tonight. πŸ˜‚

Great! I'm in Hyde Park, NY. Mom is in a nursing home in Rhinebeck and I'm there 5 x a week.

Did you go to the sheep and wool last year? I didn't go. I've got such a huge stash!! πŸ˜‚

Yep, Rhinebeck, NY which is 15 minutes from me. They're really good!

I tried to upload it but guess it didn't work. I'll type it in when I get a chance.

Thanks. The first time I've baked in a long time was Christmas when I made just a few cookies for my husband and me. Haven't been feeling like doing much of anything since I'm always going to the nursing home to feed mom lunch, taking the dog to the park twice a day and in the yard, and taking care of my husband. I haven't had the time nor inclination to bake and I used to bake bread and make yogurt weekly! Maybe I'm getting my MOJO back. 😊 I bought a couple old local church cookbooks at the antique emporium and made 2 recipes from them which are really good. One is for cinnamon chip scones and the other is crab quiche. I'll post them when I get a chance. I love reading cookbooks especially ones from various organizations. I have to catch up reading the forums here -- its been a while since I logged in.

Just getting back into baking bread again. Last 2 weeks been making golden egg bread which is great for French toast especially when using eggnog.

                        Corn kernel sprouting. Google it.

My friend gave me yellow string beans and they were so tender and delicious. Had baked salmon and cottage cheese that needed to be used up along with the beans.

I used to do that, as well. Haven't been blueberry picking for several years because I don't have the time. I miss having bags and bags of frozen blueberries. I buy them at the farm stand and freeze some.

Thank you so much, BakerAunt and Cass! I love knowing the problems. Shame on nordicware! I definitely will not use that recipe again. I hate when recipes fail after all the work and ingredients wasted. I'll just keep using my pound cake recipe.
Thanks again for the effort into the explanation.

Thanks, Mike. I don't like tea at all but will on occasion (when I have a sore throat or a cold) drink herbal tea. I used tangerine orange zinger. I ended up adapting my buttermilk bundt cake recipe with vanilla and almond extracts. Just baked 2 batches and they are good! I only filled the molds half instead of 3/4 because I used baking powder and soda. Going to put a clear glaze on. I'm happy now. Thanks for your suggestion. I just went a totally different way with the ingredients.
