What did you think about the show last night? I missed the last segment, maybe more, as I fell asleep. I have to get up at 4:00A and nearing 10:00P I can barely stay awake.
Sadly, I saw the lady with a big mouth that was a co-host last year on the recent advertisement. She was not an asset on the program last year.
November 30, 2016 at 1:16 pm in reply to: Icing Decoration That Will Last without Refrigeration #5746I was going to suggest trying to buy some small tubes. I've only had two tubes in my life when I needed bright green and bright red. It is quite hard to make those deep colors so I got the tubes. It was a very long time ago so there are probably improvements to the tips and even the icing and they should be easy for you to use for your small cakes.

My mom always got several bushels of apples in the fall and stored them in our fruit room in the basement. It was cool there and apples kept very well thru the winter. She always loved to get a couple of bushels of winesaps. I never see them in our stores.
My husband got to take a bus load of preschoolers to the Pumpkin Patch 30 miles or so away back on Oct. 26. The patch was in its last days of operation for the year and they marked many things way down in price to get rid of them. All the squash were free and pumpkins were cheap. He bought a half peck of golden delicious apples for $ 4.00 and they were huge. So nice and tree ripened. Just like our own in a good year. We have many apple trees but just a very few apples this year on a grimes golden tree. I think all the rain we had last spring kept the blooms from being pollinated.
I decided last year that I would not buy apples in the stores again. They are picked so green for shipping and kept in storage so they last all winter and beyond and never ripen like home grown apples. They are not cheap and many just shrivel up instead of ripening.
Every once in awhile, jej will email me for some help and I have sent her a link to all of her almost 100 recipes I get moved here. Back in May, I sent her the links to all of the sites after the BC closed. She keeps very busy with her local activities so I don't know if she has been here or not. Her email was not on my list.
Chocomouse it is always so nice to hear from you. Hoping you'll soon have all the pain and aggravation of the surgeries behind you.
Jozy asked me a few days ago for the list of links to our sites for a friend of hers. I know this was a person that never got my list. This friend of Jozy came here and read as she mentioned the Cindy's lemons threads to Jozy.
Our sweet gum still has most of its leaves and the Japanese maple has just started turning fall colors. The first pic with the red berries, a viburnum, one of a half dozen we have, is still covered with green leaves this morning.
When I put these pics here, I filled out a second box with a title and clicked OK but he title did not show up.
The first pic is Japanese maple, next is a burning bush, next is purple smoke tree, viburnum, tissue culture holly tree, black gum and American holly tree. Our giant dawn redwood has been really pretty with is coppery-colored leaves.
It's great to hear from you, CindyLeigh, and so wonderful your studies are done!! You've come a very long way since that box of books left wet in the snow by your garage. Congratulations and I hope you find a great job you'll enjoy each day.
For the above pic, chocolate covered strawberries always go quickly...this local lady has done them with many embellishments...nut sprinkles, sea salt, colored seasonal sprinkles, icing drizzles.
