The grills were fired up again. We had cheeseburgers and BBQ chicken with corn on the cob. I also made a small bowl of macaroni salad for another side. For something different during the week, the BBQ chicken breast was sliced and we had flatbread sandwiches. Goes quicker after work to just reheat than to cook from scratch.

I had plethora of overripe bananas so I made 3 loaves of banana bread. 1 for breakfast and the other two went in the freezer for later.

Wonky - I need to check both computers to see if I saved yours. If I don't Zen does.

Swirth - I have bookbags recipes in a few different threads. I think I also have the chocolate cake thread.

I have 2 hours to kill every morning before work so I saved a ton there. I need to merge the folders together from each computer. Then I can start to load them. They are all word 2010 documents. To save as much as possible I copied and pasted. Nothing is pretty but that is fixable.

I learned how to make pasta by hand from my grandmother. She got out the board and set it up on the kitchen table. She would put flour in the middle of it and make a well for the eggs and water. The eggs all went it at the same time. One hand worked the flour and the eggs and the other poured water a little at time until the dough came together. It was shaped into a ball and rested for about 5 minute. Then she got what we kids referred to as the ravioli stick. In reality it was a cut off broom handle sanded smooth. It was a wedding gift from her father. The dough would get cut in half and then rolled very thin to fill the board. Filling then got spooned on and the dough flipped over to be cut into ravioli. Leftover dough would get re-rolled and cut into "strips" for the littlest kids to eat. The first time I did it by myself my hands were a mess. The dough came out right but it took me a long time to get the knack of only using one hand to mix the dough. I'm still using gram's wedding gift to roll my pasta.

I usually only cook twice a week - sometimes only once. They we eat all week. So this week I grilled boneless pork chops, a boneless pork loin roast, cubed steak for sandwiches. I also made veggies to go with - green beans and mushrooms and a big pot of broccoli. The Webers will get a workout weather permitting until November. I grilled up to the week before Thanksgiving the last two seasons. Although grilled by flashlight can be a challenge.
