I made brownies from a box mix with many changes. I had a container of buttermilk I needed to use up so instead of water, I used it. I also subbed half of the oil called for with buttermilk. Then I added a half cup of old fashioned oats and an equal amount of buttermilk (I used up the buttermilk!). Finally, I added in some dried fruit mix I had from KAF. It baked nicely. They are not very fudgey, more cake like, (because of the oats) but I like them like this.
I also made my sandwich buns, half with dried onion topping and half with sesame seeds.
I made a stir fry with some leftover pork roast. Had it with brown rice. Used some of my turkey stock in it, it came out pretty good.
I'm making a stock from turkey bones that I had in the freezer.
I had roasted pork, whipped sweet potato, broccoli and carrot.
Another great looking pizza, Mike.
I had roasted salmon with pasta and broccoli.
That looks real good, CWC.
I made a pepperoni pizza tonight.
I made a pound cake from a Betty Crocker mix. I subbed walnut oil for the butter. It baked up real nice but it really doesn't remind me too much of pound cake. It tastes good, just not too much like pound cake. Maybe it's because I didn't use butter or maybe it's just the nature of that mix.
For dinner I made pizza with ground chicken and red bell pepper.
Easy dinner tonight, a cheese burger and broccoli and carrots.
That's a fine looking pizza, Mike. All this pizza talk is making me hungry for one.
ItalianCook, I agree, most modern recipes use more sugar than necessary. When I bake for myself I usually reduce the sugar.
You can also get caraway seeds from The Spice House, if you purchase their "flat pack" it ships free and no minimum, you can buy a single flatpack. The flatpack of caraway seeds is a 1/2 cup and currently listed at $5.29.
I made Swedish meatballs from a recipe I found on Youtube. Had it with noodles and fresh broccoli.
One of the reasons I never got involved with sour dough is all the flour it uses to keep the starter going. It just isn't worth it to me.
I had a chicken sandwich, roasted brussels sprouts and sweet potato. No pots used, just a foil lined pan, yay!
I didn't know her but I'm sorry to learn of it.
