Joan, your soup looks delicious, and I love that bowl.

Today I made stock with the turkey bones and skin in the Instant Pot. It yielded about 3 quarts of liquid gold. The proportion of meat to bones on a 7 pound turkey isn't real favorable but it was delicious.

I haven't quite decided on tonight's dinner but I'm leaning towards turkey soup.

On Monday, I used the tomatoes that ripened in the house (we still have some green ones) to make pizza sauce. I froze half of it and used the other half for our dinner pizza. Tomatoes removed from the plants to ripen inside are never as good as the ones that ripen in the height of summer, so sauce is a good use for them.

I think I finally found the solution to cooking thin pork cutlets. First of all I gently pounded the cutlets to tenderize them. Then I brined them with sugar and salt. Then I followed a NYT recipe that called for a cast iron skillet . The cutlets were fried only 2 to 3 minutes per side and then served with a sauce. It was comical to see me constantly having to start up my phone to follow the recipe. The oil burned my skin and made a mess of my stove. My husband told me that I finally got it right. Wrong.

Tonight I had more of the chicken noodle soup, thanks Len on my dishes from when we were married in 1971 still use what I have left today.I love green!
Navlys the pork sounds good. My husband loved for me to cook cubed pork because it's so tender but like you it makes a mess on the stove.

I made meatballs, stuffed peppers and a pork tenderloin on the BBQ this afternoon. Meals for the next 8 days.

While I was out there, one of my neighbors warned me about a large raccoon that was wandering around, I did spot it but it stayed in the back near the fence. Got my food inside just before the sun disappeared.

I think tonight I will have a pepper, snap peas and cauliflower and maybe mashed potato.

                        BBQ

I know BBQ purists would never use a pan like I do, but I'm all about easy cleanup and when I do this, the food tastes just like BBQ.

Home from traveling, so I made a sheet pan dinner of fridge leftovers. I started with 2" pieces of kielbasa, and added chunks of carrots, parsnips, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, onion, green pepper, and can't remember what else - Odds and ends of veggies, sprinkled with a tiny bit of sea salt.

We had leftover pizza, which was an easy meal, since we drove for an hour to our favorite orchard for apples. We came home with a half bushel of Evercrisp, which is an excellent eating apple, and a favorite of Scott's, a half bushel of original Winesap (the small ones), which is my favorite for baking. We also bought three half bushels of seconds that are for applesauce or apple butter. One is mostly Ida Reds, while the others are a mix. At $10 per bag, they were an excellent bargain. I will start working on them later this week.

BakerAunt you're going to be busy with your apples and that's a good thing too.

I made a steak in the air fryer, sautéed onions and mushrooms and had a half of a baked potato.
