I was thinking way before WWII. I Googled on info in your post and found this one:

      https://www.we-energies.com/recipes/cookiebookarchive/1958cookiebook.pdf

More pages than 28 but 1958 so they must have put out several editions.

I searched the Alpha Index for the Devonshire Cream recipe...it would be on page 20 but it is not there.

What a bundle of joy...Ruth and babies! I've been wondering about Ruth.

Carol...Randy's site is still up for awhile so you could put them there. I mentioned there that I was hoping DL would put pics of her pups there. She always put so many pics there.

When I tried to post a pic here to try it out, when I hit Search File it takes me to my computer pics but my pic was not stored there.

That was never RandyD's intent when he opened his site in April 2009. KAF did not have a way to post pics and many times a pic was vital to the written word. So, he began his blog and the pictures poured in along with the posts.

Picture posting was as easy as copy and paste, something few other sites have that are easy to use at all.

Growing his blog was not the intent at all. There are so many pics along with recipes throughout his blog.

He has had two other blogs just for enjoyment with different themes...many such blogs exist with no intent to grow but just to provide a gathering place for like minds and to share things the followers enjoy and learn from.

I follow birding forums and gardening forums where it does not matter if they grow or not. These forums have been going for years and will likely continue for a long time.

We've lost so many long-time BCers since the KAF shut-down...really sad and I doubt they will ever join us again as we had the same thing happen with the oldBC shut-down.

One long time BCer told me, I don't know where or IF I will sign up...we are all scattered and it is hard to keep up with all of our family.

aaronatthedoublef signed up on Zen's site quite awhile ago. Can't recall who else was on that thread. Aaron did not get on our email list.

I thought the picture would show up, not the link. We'll get it figured out.

That picture is a newly hatched red-spotted purple butterfly back in July 2012, on an azalea bush. I submitted it to our phone company recently in their phone book cover contest and it got honorable mention. They select one winner for a $ 100.00 prize and two honorable mentions with no $$. The winner will be on the 2016 phone book cover. The other two will be on an inside page in color. The company prints/mails 34,000 phone books in August so many will get to see some nice local pics.

A Baking Circle friend and her husband use the butterfly on their website home page.

This is the main parts of Cindy's one email on 5/30:

Sarah, it's so good to hear from you!

Let's see if I can bring you up to date without going on and on. Yes, I still have
Helen. I asked her what would happen once the vacs were all gone and she replied by
saying, "Honey, I'm your nurse for life!" I still have the vac on the left hip (very
long story. Suffice to say it was an idiot Doctor) and it might be another 2-3
months before it's completely healed. Helen comes 3 times a week and dresses
everything. Once a week she does the maintenance on my PICC line and once a month
she changes the Foley catheter. She also checks my entire body for anything new.
Bruises, bumps, cuts.........you know, all that sort of thing.

The very best news is that I have a caregiver, Rhonda. She's great! She comes in
from 6:30-12:30 Monday thru Friday. I've been very resistant to having someone in
the house with me. I'm now glad I was put in the position where I couldn't say no.
She has been a Godsend! I'm not only lucky, I'm blessed. This has taken the pressure
off Michael. Maybe his bad shoulder won't hurt as much.

I'm still in quite a bit of pain, but that's to be expected. I try not to take too
much of the pain meds. The main reason is because the insurance company refuses to
pay for the pills. Even though they paid for them for 2 years. Now, they change
their little-bitty minds. It costs $1,500/month (90 pills that I'm SUPPOSED to take
four a day). Who has that kind of money to spend on medications!!!!????!!!??? I hate
                        insurance companies!

That's about all for now. Feel free to update everyone.

I asked Jozy what yahoo group it was from and I sent her the one rparrny started and that is when Jozy wrote this below: (so it is not rparrny's at all).

On May 30, I had two long emails from Cindy. She said I could update BCers but I just never did. One thing that is awful, her insurance company quit paying for her pain meds. $ 1500.00 a month. The insurance paid for this for two years.

Here is one part of her email re meds:

When the oldBC went down, KathyG started a yahoo groups thing. I went there one time and my computer screen turned bright green and froze...it took a lot to get things going again. I ran scans many times and cleaned out everything I knew how to. I never went back.

On June 3, I got an email from Jozy about spam email. She asked if I wanted to see it and I said no.

This is what she later wrote as to where the stuff came from:
