Just finished up recipes from naughtysquirrel. We are getting there!
I use a similar method of cooking an eye of the round but on the grill. I have done it in the oven in the dead of winter when I can't (won't) grill.

I didn't follow these instructions exactly. I don't sear the roast before putting it the pan. I also bank the coals on each side of the pan for more even heat. The roast is always tender and juicy. And it requires very little attention once it is on the grill.
When I put this in the oven I set the oven to the lowest temp too instead of turning it off. I was afraid of the oven cooling too quickly as well. The last thing I wanted was uncooked meat at the end of the cooking time!
I don't use a lot of salt either. I tend to reduce it in almost everything - dessert included. I'm curious as to why the increased salt resulted in a more flavorful cookie. I would have thought just the opposite.
August 23, 2016 at 6:51 am in reply to: Did You Cook Anything Interesting the Week of August 14, 2016? #4369This was kind of a boring week. I grilled burgers and teriyaki chicken. Plus corn on the cob and zucchini and mushrooms.
I baked on both ends of the week. Sunday I made the pan cubano bread that I then used for more of the sandwiches since there was pork left over.
I also made two loaves of banana bread for our church rummage and and bake sale on Friday.
Today I finished up msbelle's recipes. Also uploaded ncgnet and a few from nloxford that I had that weren't posted. Starting on naughtysquirrel tomorrow.
This morning I finished up Mrs M's recipes and started on msbelle's. We are over 2100 recipes!
This morning I posted recipes from mrschiu, mrscindy, MrsM. I still have a few more for MrsM but we just hit 2100 recipes!
I finished lsb, mangochutney, martibeth, meghildreth and used2bmoomie recipes this morning. Still have a ways to go with recipes but we are getting there!
August 17, 2016 at 5:29 am in reply to: Did You Cook Anything Interesting the Week of August 7, 2016? #4164I made Lechón Asado Roast Pork for Pan Cubano sandwiches. I didn't have time to make the bread for the sandwiches so I used grocery store fluffy Italian rolls. I cut the middles out so they weren't too thick. They toasted up really well. I will be making this again as it was a big hit.
Pizza and grilled hot dogs rounded out the week.
I made two loaves of banana bread for the freezer. I froze them in halves so there wouldn't be so much temptation.
We now have 2000 recipes posted. I just added an assortment plus all of kittykat3308. Started on lsb but I'm pretty sure I don't have all of them. I know Nina (frick) saved them all so if you want to email them to me I will post all. I still have quite a few left to post.
August 9, 2016 at 5:48 am in reply to: Did You Cook Anything Interesting the Week of July 31, 2016? #4019This week I made stuffed peppers and grilled lamb chops with stuffed mushrooms. They are a favorite off the grill around here.
