Today we had spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic toast.
This morning I made up dough for fried apple tarts or hand pies,I had two apples that needed using so I cooked up the apples with a little white and brown sugar,a teaspoon of lemon juice, cinnamon and a tab of butter and one small cup of applesauce that needed to go,this cooked down and was really watery so I added in a tbsp.of tapioca still not thick enough so I added in a tablespoon of corn starch mixed with enough water to stream in it thickened up well. Then I poured this mixture on a plate to cool quick in fridge while I rolled out the dough.I got 8 tarts and they fried up nicely.Got it,learned this watching cooking shows.

We got out and cleaned the yard today. My husband did the mowing and I picked up pine cones that was a job but we got it done and it sure looks so much better. That old John Deere is 19 years old and still running. After he did the cutting he put the bagger on and vacuumed over where it piled up.He said he was scared he'd never be able to do that again but so far he's tired as I am too.Now only picking up some sticks in one spot he didn't mow and weed eating.Pollen here is awful and has been for a month already.
I was going to have rotisserie chicken last night but he wanted another round of hamburger steaks and fries so that was easy, good and a quick 30 minutes and done.
Got it.
I knew this one.

February 23, 2020 at 2:53 pm in reply to: What are you Cooking the week of February 23, 2020? #21552We had hamburger steaks with sauteed onions and french fries. When I do my onions I always cook them in microwave for a couple minutes with a pat of butter and salt and pepper to soften them ,that's the way the cooks at Shoney's always did, then throw them on the grill with the patty for a few minutes, time the hamburger was done the onions are soft.
I made a lemon supreme pound cake from Duncan Hines mix which is my husbands favorite with lemon glaze icing and it's all gone but one quarter left.he shared with a friend that runs our local little store like a 7-11.Thankfully my husbands appetite is back in full swing, just has to regain some weight and strength.
Missed it.
