Your grilling sounds good Mike.My cousin and my son will hit the ribs with a little vinegar at the end of smoking then wrap them in foil for about 30 -45 minutes more on the grill and they will almost fall apart. The vinegar does not have a taste on the meat.
We had hamburgers and pork-n-beans.
We had tuna salad sandwiches and fries tonight...my husbands request.
We had pan fried chicken breast with green lima beans and macaroni and cheese.
I made a Mexican casserole and it was a little soupy on the edges so I had mine over tortilla chips and it was like extra loaded nachos so good.My husband just had his with bread and butter.
Grocery shopping today and you can tell everything is on the rise.Between Publix and Target we spent $279.00 but I haven't been in three weeks except to the Dollar General and the small vegetable stand down the road from us.I can only imagine what people with 3 or 4 kids are spending.I'm very frugal and look for the best deals when I can find one.We had fried cube pork, rice and gravy and peas and carrots.
Tonight I cooked a chicken breast in butter on top of stove, while that was cooking I cooked a handful of mushrooms and onions with a pat of butter & salt and pepper in the microwave for two minutes. When I flipped the chicken I poured the mushroom & onion on top and covered for a few minutes with that we had thickened potatoes and creamed corn.
Chocomouse the orange rolls sound delicious.
Tonight we had a chargrilled chicken breast that I marinated in Italian dressing, garden peas baked sweet potatoes and a salad of leftover lettuce and tomatoes from taco salad a day or two ago.
Have any of you ever cooked a sweet potato in the microwave.I will grease the potato and wrap in a paper towel and cook. These were small ones and they cooked in about 7 minutes.I cook all my "baked" potatoes in the microwave, saves on heating the oven.
Thanks for the information Mike on the pie crusts making.
I haven't baked one in along time also don't put raisins or pineapple and if I use pecans they go only in icing.
The cherry pie I baked was very good and the crusts was flaky.I normally bake in aluminum pie tins but decided I'd try a glass pyrex pie pan but I think I like the pie tins better. The bottom didn't bake as well as they usually do.We had cherry pie ala mode.
The pie crust recipe I make I usually cut the shortening in with a pie dough mixer or cutter ,well I was in a hurry and decided to mix it all together with my hands and it did as well as all the cutting in..They rolled out well and I was pleased.I have two more in the freezer.
Tonight my husband had canned soup and fries, I had a leftover hamburger and fries.
I made pie crusts yesterday so I made a cherry pie for dessert tonight.
Dang Mike that's a problem no one wants.Sure hope you get it fixed soon and the cleanup goes smooth.Very few people here in the south have basements, I wish we did.
We had taco salad tonight.
We had spaghetti and meat sauce that was in the freezer and I made garlic toast.
I pan fried two floured pork chops ,made onion gravy then put them in my roasting pan and baked for 1& 1/2 hours in the gravy, we had rice and green beans to go with them.Pork chops was fork tender.
