Coming in late here but Happy Belated Birthday Mike! I hope you had a wonderful day! The hot fudge collection sounds yummy! You'll have to tell us your favorite. Thanks for all you do for us!

I said yes but I agree with you Chocomouse, I don't trust them and they are not the company they used to be... It will be interesting to see where they go with this.

Mike, I don't know if you are watching the comments on the King Arthur blog post, but MaryJane responded to your request today regarding the old recipes. She mentioned that there were links in the comments to other sites where they were archived. The funny thing is that the only link I saw was from BakerAunt - pointing to this site. So she pretty much referred you back to your own website! πŸ™‚

Thanks Chocomouse! Boy, that's a tough one as so many things come to mind such as using "the grease", everyone's experience with different types of equipment - ovens, mixers, tools... and techniques such as the importance of shaping your dough. However, probably the best tip is to not be afraid to experiment with a recipe - to trust your own instincts and knowledge on what may make a recipe even better. Of course, even better than the tips is the sense of community here. You all are the best!

I'm a little late to the party but I also wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Year. As someone who has been reading and occasionally posting since the old BC, I really have learned a lot from you all and enjoy this site. Thanks Mike for all that you do for us and I am thankful for everyone here.

Many Blessings to each of you and your families and may 2020 be the best year yet!

I'm so sorry that you have to go through surgery but will be praying for a successful surgery and quick recovery. The timing is just awful with all those tomatoes but then again, I suppose it's never a good time to deal with this... Hope that all goes well and take care of yourself first!

Like BakerAunt, I always dump my bag of flour into my flour canister and toss the bag. After all these recalls, I may start cutting out the lot information and keeping it in a plastic bag on top of the flour in my canister. I started doing that with the labels for my Special Dry Milk and Buttermilk Powder as I couldn't remember which was which. πŸ™‚

Interestingly, Krogers called and left me an automated voice message warning me about the KAF flour recall. Apparently I purchased flour during a period that is questionable. A warning is showing up at the bottom of all my grocery receipts as well. I'm not concerned because I haven't had any issues and I rarely would eat anything with flour that isn't cooked (although I will eat a bite of cookie dough here and there...). Still, I do appreciate their effort to get the word out.

Oh Mike, I am so very sorry to hear this. I have heard that the pain from this rivals breaking your femur. I hope this can be resolved as quickly and painlessly as possible and that you're feeling better soon.

                        Happy (Belated) Birthday Mike!!

I don't post very often but do read almost daily. I wanted to make sure I wished you a Happy Birthday and to say thank you for all you do! Your Texas Sheet Cake sounds wonderful and it's on my list of recipes to try one of these days... πŸ™‚

I am guilty of this as well. I read almost every day but don't always log in.

Thank you Mike for providing us this site. I don't bake that often but I do learn so much from all of you! Thank you all - it is much appreciated.

Wonky and Swith, I don't post much but have been a member from back in the old BC days. I wanted to let you know that I will be keeping both of you and your families in my thoughts and prayers. Life just does not seem fair to continue with one blow after another.

May you find peace and strength during this difficult time, Denise
