Looks like I'll get 3-4 small (golf ball) tomatoes tomorrow from the 4th of July plants.

The leaves on the squash plants have been turning yellow and now they are dead. Too bad since they showed so much promise in the beginning. But I know squash in the container might be a challenge. I'm going to pull them and plant green beans.

I've got a couple of small chestnut trees that aren't doing well, either. I was hoping to replace one of them this spring but the arboretum I get them from didn't have any available because the squirrels ate the seedlings.

Some of my other tomato plants are starting to have ripening fruit on them, so tomato season is about to get fully underway.

I also transplanted the seedlings into the hydroponic garden for the next cycle of it, I should start getting tomatoes from it in mid to late October.

Here's a photo, I'll post an update in a couple of weeks to show progress. (Sorry about the purple color, that's due to the lights I use.)

That's quite a set-up Mike.

We have yet to get any large tomatoes, although there are two green ones. We are doing well with cherry tomatoes. We have had a first picking of green beans, and more are on the way. The pickling cucumbers are doing well, and I just made my second batch of refrigerator dills from our garden. However, my husband forgot about two in the garden, and they have yellowed skin. I will see if I can peel them and use them in another way. We have some small green peppers on all the plants. The pumpkin plant has finally formed some flower buds, but it looks like they are all male flowers. We may have a repeat of last season when most of the pumpkins developed too late. The potato plants have really grown, and my husband had to cover up a potato or two that had started to show.

I think I'm a week or two away from ones that are 8 ounces or heavier from the garden, the biggest of them aren't showing any signs of ripening yet.

I do expect to have some 4-6 ounce ones in the next few days, and that's big enough to do some interesting things with.

It's nice that you have space for all that, Mike. A nice setup.

I'm starting to get tomatoes, I've had a few over the past week or so but today was a nice harvest. One of the bad tomatoes rolled off the table onto the ground. When I went back out there a few minutes later, I saw one of the rabbits had eaten a good portion of it.

What lovely tomatoes, Len! Ours are so slow this year, and I am yearning for that turkey bacon and tomato sandwich. At this rate, we won't have any until September, and there are not that many.

My green bean patch is looking good. 15 seeds have germinated, I think there were 2 failures. Hopefully I will have some beans later.
