Sara's Weeknight Meals had Ming Tsai on it. He cooked rice in a rice cooker. He used part white rice & part brown rice. He soaked the brown rice for an hour before mixing it with the rice and adding it to the rice cooker. I'm curious -- have you ever soaked brown rice before adding it to a rice cooker that has automatic cooking and shut off?
I cooked brown rice this week and did not soak it. It was a little firmer than when I cooked white rice in my new cooker, but it was still enjoyable.
