I baked sub buns. My shaping still needs work but practice makes perfect, right?😉. Going to be some French dip sandwiches and maybe some meatball subs with these.

Hi all! It's been a long time! I was toffee on old BC. I'm in Minnesota and a dozen eggs are anywhere between $4.99-$7.89. I buy mine at Costco and got a package of 50 for $18.99. Last time I bought a box of 50 it was $16.99. About 5 weeks ago. Anyone who thought the election would bring lower prices must be really unhappy right now.

Thanks all! Wonky, I’m in Savage. We are building a house in Stillwater so will be moving late this year. We have been in our current house 26 years in April. Good thing I’ve been culling stuff for the last 5. Still so much to pack though. And I’m SO ready for Spring!
I baked hamburger buns today and bake them every week for our sandwiches. Don’t know what happened today but I got less than stellar results. I watched the hydration and even thought it might have been too wet. They are edible but a couple degrees of separation from hockey pucks. Sigh. Sometimes you just have one of those days. ?

Hi All! I was toffee on the old BC. I’ve been lurking here and am still in touch with a few on FB. I grilled chicken tonight as the temps here in Minnesota are in the mid 40’s this week. A baked potato and a garden salad plus fresh baked bread were sides. I grill all year around except on windy or below zero days.
