Very interesting article, BakerAunt. Today I received the new KA Big Book of Bread from Amazon. I haven't looked through it all yet and am enjoying it immensely. I LOVE reading cookbooks. I have at least 300 cookbooks (no exaggeration). I buy them new, at the thrift, library book sales, library discards, Thrift books online, antique shops, etsy, used book stores, flea markets, etc. I have a bunch from my mother and grandmother. I'm obsessed with them! 😂 I've found lots of good recipes. Anyone else have this disease?

Joan, that sounds so good. I love bbq, especially bbq pulled pork.

        Salmon tonight with salad.

I'm sorry you're allergic to wool, chocomouse. My brother is allergic so I've knit him stuff in acrylic. Well , give it to your sister or someone else who can use it. I was going to bring you jelly I made but since you don't know me from Adam I didn't think that was a good idea. I'm glad I met you! Next time I'll knit something in acrylic. 😊

I'm making a turkey breast today with all the trimmings.

Last week my neighbor gave me a bunch of different kinds of peppers so I made pepper jelly and gave her half. On Saturday, I made apple jelly and apple pie jelly and gave some to my friends.

Last week made my husband eggs Benedict for breakfast and mushroom soup for lunch.

I'm getting back into the groove of cooking and baking. My mom passed away end of last month at age 92. I took care of her for 3.5 years and then she was in the nursing home for 3 years where I was with her all the time. My husband wasn't home for 4 months between being in hospitals and rehab. So I was hopping there for a while with him, mom and the dog. My motto is 1 day at a time and I got thru it. Ate alot of ice cream, though! Now things are a lot calmer and I hope they stay that way.

Just made some drop cornbread biscuits to go with the big pot of chili. Yeah, I know, it's 82 degrees outside but my husband requested chili. Thank God for AC.

Nice! I'm looking forward to this year's fest. I need some zen. Lol. Remind me the name of chocomouse's booth. Thanks.

Thanks. Things are settling down here finally. From the end of January to the end of May my husband wasn't home. He was in and out of the hospital 6 times and rehab. 1 step forward and 3 steps back. Now he's much better and PT is coming to the house twice a week so things are looking up.
I read your husband had health problems. Glad he's recovered. We women have to be strong!

Blueberry crumb cake. Made one for my neighbor then a couple days later couldn't resist making one for us. It didn't last long. Lol

The donut recipe looks delicious and I have all the ingredients on hand. I will try it soon. Thanks!

How was the fair? What did you buy? I'm hoping to go to Rhinebeck this October. I passed last year but looking forward to it this year.

I'm a knitter and my friend and I were just discussing the topic of it not getting very cold anymore. I knit myself a warm sweater last year and never wore it because the winter was so mild. I've knit tons of hats, mittens, scarves, shawls, sweaters and a few pairs of socks. I'm in the Mid Hudson Valley and it used to get very cold and snow alot but not anymore. I hope we get snow this winter!!
