Cleaning out the fridge=Lima bean soup, using left over tomato gravy, rice and lima beans, cut up some onion, celery and carrot and adding in chicken stock from baked chicken.Good and easy!

I made the Amish bread but added the 7 grain cereal like one half cup and used one and half cups of white and one and half cups wheat flour, used buttermilk in place of water.I had to add extra buttermilk it was way too dry.I didn't soak the cereal before and when baked I could see little white pieces of the oatmeal,it was heavy but had a good taste for toast so I'll keep trying.

Baked some chocolate chip cookie bars today was good and stayed soft, called for 2 cups of chocolate chips and I used one and half cups and that was a little too much for me,baked in 9x13 pan.I found some seven grain cereal to use for some bread will be doing that soon. Not a lot of baking here cause it's so dang hot.

I made another batch of cinnamon rolls and replaced the milk with buttermilk and you're right BakerAunt they are moist and more tender, also added left over mashed potatoes that was prepared with butter and sour cream.I made 2 9x13 pans so I had plenty to share with our aunt and sister who live near us.

BakerAunt glad you're home and baking again.Let us know how the buttermilk is in the Vienna bread.I've made it a time or two and like it also.I'm thinking of replacing buttermilk for the whole milk to the next batch of cinnamon rolls.

I made 2 loaves of Rum soaked raisin and cinnamon bread from the Amish bread recipe and added in buttermilk for half the liquid-called for 2 cups water so I added one cup buttermilk, added an egg and some left over mashed potatoes.Turned out good and sturdy, didn't cave when it was turned out, very happy!

Sunday I cooked fried chicken, rice and gravy and dry lima beans and made a no bake Peanut Butter pie was very good and light.I didn't have a graham cracker crust but had graham crackers so I made my crust and put in 9x13 dish. The recipe said it made two pies but I did only 1 dish so good tastes like eating a candy bar or a nutty buddy ice cream.

I made an Apple Crisp Wednesday and it was good but a tad sweet to me,we had it with vanilla ice cream while it was warm. The topping was only flour, brown and white sugar and a stick of butter crumbled up and spread on top.My sister had a birthday today and her favorite cake is pound cake,so I made the Cream Cheese Cold Oven pound cake it was really good and so moist, that's my favorite too.
