Thank you Bakeraunt and Mike,I know they appreciated everything that has been done for them.Aunt Becky passed last night and she is in her Heavenly home,as Billy Graham said she just changed addresses.
Using up left over lima beans to make lima bean soup. It's so windy here today so soup is just what we need to stay warm.
Another batch of cinnamon rolls to take next door. After I had gotten them buttered sprinkled with brown sugar and raisins I rolled them up and cut them had on the pans and was wondering why they looked so light in the swirl well I had forgotten the cinnamon so ..no choice but sprinkle it on top and baked as usual.I tasted one and it was fine.topped them with cream cheese icing oh so good!I also put a cooked and mashed potato in them and it really keeps the bread so soft.My husbands aunt is dying and her family has been by her side for almost 2 weeks and they are so tired.
No cooking here tonight, Tacos from local Mexican restaurant.
Tonight I made fried cubed pork with thickened potatoes and garden peas and carrots.
I made another batch of cinnamon rolls with raisins and added a potato that I boiled and mashed up and topped them with a cream cheese icing. They turned out well and I took them to our aunts home next door.
Thanks Mike, fixing to do this now.
I've tried their Brownies and they were good.
Tonight we had Oyster stew.
Thanks for your replies to my baking question!
Tonight we had chicken potpie with the rest of the left over chicken.
Bakeraunt I made Moomies buns in a loaf of bread today using all of your variations with buttermilk and flax and it turned out really good.It was a couple inches over the 9x5 bread pan and has a good crumb.I tried a slice in the toaster and was pleased. When I slashed it it sank a little but came back up in the oven, after it cooled and I cut it ,it's like 4-5 inches tall.I have a question for ya'll.When you turn your breads out do you lay them on their side or up?I usually always do up but I have had some soft breads that when you put them up they squish some.I also made cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing.
I Googled the Hafrakex and saw several recipes, never heard of them before but the pictures looked like an oatmeal cookie.I love the pan grease too.Wonky I have to remix mine sometimes also.Usually when I wash my bread pans it's just with hot water and those are the ones I have baked banana bread in they kinda get gooey. If I bake a regular loaf of bread I do like Wonky, just wipe them out. That's what I do with all my cast iron also.I never wash them with soap only hot water when baking corn bread or biscuits I just wipe those out with a paper towel.
Bread sounds good Bakeraunt.
last night I boiled a chicken and used half for chicken -n-dumplings and a side of garden peas.Tonight I baked a pork tenderloin, sides of baked potatoes and green beans.
