My starter is 5 years old,got the recipe from KAF and keep it refrigerated.I don't do regular feedings either, when I'm wanting to bake bread I take it out stir it up sometimes I throw some away sometime I don't .After about 3 or 4 feedings it's up to par and makes really good sourdough.I really like the flavor and like to make it half white and half wheat.

Brunswick Stew is a big thing around here in the south Mike.My Grandfather use to make a big cast iron kettle of it cooking with fire under it for all holidays in the cooler months. It has chicken and pulled pork with vegs,a sorta BBQ taste.I'll write down my recipe for you. This is half recipe and it still makes a lot.
            Brunswick Stew
            1-Chicken
            1 1/2#-Pork
            2 1/2#-Potatoes
            1-can garden peas
            1-can tomatoes
            1-can green lima beans
            3-ribs celery
            1-can whole kernel corn
            1#-onions
            8-ounces catsup
            1/2-cup worcestershire sauce
            3-tbsp.sugar
hot sauce to taste (I usually do 1/4 cup Louisana less if you don't like spicy)
            1 tbsp.vinegar
            salt and pepper to taste
            14-16 ounces BBQ sauce

I boil chicken and pork together or pressure cook till done.Pull all meat off bone and save liquid. In liquid put your potatoes cut up to cook till almost done.Grind your onions and celery together and add to same cooking time as potatoes. When potatoes are almost done mash a little you want to leave them a little chunky. Then add all other ingredients and heat for a couple hours on low. This makes a thick stew and is really filling and good.We always ate this with crackers or bread.I have cheated before and used bought pulled pork from grocery store in a hurry. If it's ever too thin can add instant potato flakes. This was a big tradition in our family.Way back in the day they use to boil the whole hog head and scrape the meat ...not me though lol. This recipe makes a big stew pot for us and is better the next day or two.Just thought I'd share this with ya'll.This is the halved recipe.

I made a Ina Garten's Sour Cream Coffee Cake with Streusel topping.Very good, bakes in tube pan.Very forgiving recipe also.I forgot to add the brown sugar to streusel mix,had already layered first part when I realized what I did sooooo I figured I'd add it to 2nd part and instead of just sprinkling on top I swirled it altogether and it came out ok.Didn't have a pronounced line across but that didn't matter. It was very good and each day it got more moist.Next time I make this I will definitely make one day and not cut till the next day.We always have coffee on the porch every day with some kin folks and I got a lot of good compliments on it.Good part was it uses everything you already have in your pantry.

I had some pumpkin left from pumpkin roll so I found a recipe for Pumpkin Bars on KAF site but I made it into a cake instead of bars.It was so good I used 2 8 inch pans and the recipe called for adding golden raisins and some chips but I didn't add those. The cake had a good spicy flavor of pumpkin and the texture was great. The longer the cake sat the better it was.Iced with my own recipe of cream cheese icing.I also didn't add nuts as called for on top I love pecans but my husband doesn't so I omitted that.If you want a truly fall tasting cake try this.
