BakerAunt, thanks for doing a call-out to Joan. I've been wondering if the snow has anything to do with her not posting since the snow warning. I hope they didn't have an ice storm with the snow. Joan, I also wonder if you had more than 2" of snow. Not too long ago, we had 11" of snow. It took my husband and my yard man a long time to shovel the driveway.

I had leftovers from last night.Yes we got a record amount of snow in some places it was 4 inches.Thank you all for checking on me! I know that's not a lot for y'all but it was amazing to us.Several places near us got 7 and 8 inches! Our county got in gear to make the roads safe and a curfew was out from yesterday at 6 PM until 2 pm today. We will still deal with the black ice grrr.I'm not a fan of snow.

Joan, any amount of snow is too much if you're not used to it. I'm glad you didn't also have an ice storm. My mother moved to Atlanta to get away from winter weather. The first winter she lived in Atlanta, they had a major snowstorm. It was followed by an ice storm that downed power lines and cut off their electricity. She experienced two other ice storms in Atlanta before she died.

We had a little more snow overnight. The ice fishermen ventured to the middle of the lake, so the ice must be thick out there. I decided that a good dinner for a cold Thursday evening would be "Scottish Scone-topped Chicken Pot Pie," my lighter rendition of King Arthur's "Town Meeting Chicken Pie." For the vegetables, I briefly sauteed celery, mushrooms, and sliced carrots, then simmered them in broth. I used the remaining turkey that we have not frozen. My husband calls this recipe a healthier version of biscuits and gravy.

I also made turkey broth on Thursday.

Joan didn't get the ice storm but we did! The news said that Glynn County got hit the hardest. I will post a pic of our camellia tree tomorrow. We were without power from 5 yesterday morning until 10:15 this morning. Had to shower at a friends house before work. It was cold! And remember I'm from New England. We had so many layers and so many blankets but managed to stay warm enough. Our neighbors have a small generator and offered let us plug in an extension cord (I have 2 exterior ones we used). We were able to use the tea kettle and the toaster oven which really helped. Thank goodness for my hot water bottle! To top it all off - next week is going to be in the 60's! It will feel like a heat waveπŸ˜‚

Will cooked our leftover chicken soup on the grill using the baking steel to make it easier.

I used the leftover pork loin to make BBQ so that was my supper sandwich with pickles.

That dinner sounds so good, Joan. I enjoy hearing how people re-use their leftovers to create new meals.

CWCdesign--I'm glad that you got through the ice storm and power outage ok. If I have a choice between snow and ice, I will choose snow.

                      I made yogurt on Friday.

Dinner was leftover turkey pot pie.

BA - I would choose snow as well. After I posted the pictures of my backyard, my sister asked if the weather made me miss the Northeast. I said, no- I miss it in the summer when it's hot and humid!

Dang Cwcdesign sorry you had an ice storm so glad we didn't.I went to the store first time yesterday and my truck was still covered in snow on the windshield and hood.I cleared most of it off but when I was going down the road I thought the snow on the hood would slide off... nope it flew up and I thought I had cracked the windshield.Still have snow behind my house and around the yard I'll be glad when it's all gone.

I made a pot of chili and had a hotdog with it tonight .
