Now a true Jeopardy question would have been: Before spinach was the first commercially successful frozen vegetable, what vegetable did Clarence Birdseye first freeze?

Yes I believe Ken Jennings would have gotten this,I watched the tournament a few days ago awesome!
Missed it. I thought it was peas which, according to this link was the first commercially available frozen vegetables in the UK.
This link has a neat story about how Clarence Birdseye was inspired to invent frozen food but does not say what he froze first.
