We were supposed to go to my neighbors for Easter Dinner but her husband who has MS wasn't doing well. So we had pork tenderloin with a balsamic glaze and fruit salad with a honey dressing which was going to be my contribution to the dinner.

I decided since I'm tired of spending lots of time in the kitchen making dinner from some new recipe that we could have hot dogs and beans, (my husband loves baked beans). Anyway I started searching for the healthiest hot dogs. I never realized how much saturated fat, sodium, sugar and carbs were in hot dogs. Ugh. I almost gave up on the idea. None of our nearby supermarkets carry the applegate all beef franks which is said to be one of the healthier ones. To end this saga...I found Dietz and Watson all beef uncured franks at our supermarket and they seem healthier than most Hot dogs it will be!.

Just an fyi. The savory madeleines looked better than they tasted. The banana bread came out perfect. Now I remember why I purchased the madeleine pan. There was this recipe for chocolate madeleines in the "JOY OF CHOCOLATE" cookbook. The madeleines attach together with chocolate frosting and look like an oyster shell. I tasted one at a friends house and they were delicious.
Next month the theme is "Austria". I have a spaetzle grater that I never used. Maybe I should rethink using it.

Today I'm baking savory madelines for our French themed wine club event. Of course I have never made them before. The reviews on line are positive but who knows if those are from influencers. I already have two of the pans so I may as well use them. I'm also baking banana bread before the flies start circling my bananas. Big baking day for me!

I made lamb loin chops for dinner. Interestingly enough the recipe from Epicurious that I pinned a few years back is no longer available to non subscribers. I knew this would happen eventually. I did find a similar recipe which turned out fine. I think I may have written the recipe on a card anyway!

It is an interesting story. I had her cookbook at one time. On another note my grandmother would never eat fresh bread .It had to be at least a day old. She lived to 85.

Funny thing , you reminded me that my son (and significant other) gave us a Dash waffle bowl maker 4 years ago for Christmas. I haven't tried it yet. I'm thinking one of these days!!!
