We're finishing off the pizza tonight.
We had spaghetti and rye rolls from the freezer.
I went to my friends for Cookout today.
Sunday's dinner was noodles cooked in turkey broth from the freezer, which I mixed with some of the turkey that we had frozen before we left, sauteed mushrooms, and frozen peas. I seasoned it with dried sage, thyme, and some freshly ground black pepper. We grated Parmesan over it. There is enough for Monday's dinner as well.
On Sunday I made a pork loin roast. I'll be having the same tonight. I'm going to portion out the rest and freeze it.
I had a sausage and egg sandwich with fruit.
Today is Diane's birthday, so I'm making Veal Zurich on spaetzle for supper, and I got her a piece of sour cream raisin pie from a local pie shop.
Happy Birthday to Diane, enjoy your special day!
Happy Birthday to Diane! I hope she enjoys her pie.
She did indeed, and the Veal Zurich was pretty good, too.
Happy Birthday, Diane!
Hot dog with potato salad and chips.
I got a great deal today at Publix I found buy one get one free for KAF flour so I got 2 -5 # bags for $5.49.
That's a good deal, Joan. My grocery store has had KAF all-purpose flour at 3.99 for 5 lbs for a couple of weeks now. But last week I bought 50 lbs of Sir Lancelot, the commercial size, at the KABC store for $37.46, which was 20% off, on sale. What breaks my budget is the 2 or 3 lb bags of Super 10 or Harvest Grains or Pumpernickel for $14.95. I've been making Christmas cookies and do not want to use the regenerative whole wheat that I recently bought in those, but am anxious to try it.
If anyone is interested in a road trip -- KAF usually has a 20% off "friends and family" sale with 20% off most everything (except appliances, gift cards, and a couple more things) shortly before Easter. We could all meet for lunch in the Cafe. Their sandwiches are superb - on their own bread, of course, and amply filled with turkey, cheese, lettuce, your choices of course.
That would be so fun, Chocomouse. Sigh.
On Tuesday, I made stir-fry for dinner, using soba noodles, leftover pork, deglazing, carrots, celery, red bell pepper, green onion, mushrooms, and broccoli. We have enough for tomorrow night as well, which should give us time to go buy a Christmas tree.
For dessert, we each had a slice of Joan's pound cake from the freezer. It's delicious!
