Those look good, Mike.
I baked my riff on Ellen's Buns on Thursday. I formed them as six large ones to use for turkey sandwiches for the next few days.
Diane says the 4" ones didn't have enough filling in them, but the apple pie was nice and thick and I suspect the 6" sweet potato pie will be better than the 4" ones.
I agree, Mike your pies look great!
Joan, those cakes look good!
Great looking pies, Mike!
I've been thinking about making a pie, maybe soon.
Today I made a batch of semolina/rye/wheat rolls.
I made a variety pack. I wanted to make more of the basket weave, but that requires 6 thin strands of dough and I didn't feel like putting in the effort.
Len, have you ever tried the folding method for making Kaiser rolls? It takes a little practice but it makes a nice looking roll.
Mike, I haven't. I've seen a few youtube videos on it, I might try it sometime.
Thanks Len, and your rolls look amazing.Absolutely beautiful!
Len, I second Joan -- your rolls look absolutely amazing!
Beautiful rolls, Len!
Thanks, Joan, BA, ItalianCook!
Made a cheesecake for the hub and 5" pumpkin pie for me.
I did cranberry scones yesterday and Moravian sugar cake with apple topping.
I looked up a recipe for Moravian sugar cake, wow, that sounds good but the carbs must be astronomical.
I baked an apple pie this morning; I never make pies. I don't eat them, and they usually look awful. My husband is thrilled!
Diane is making a German's sweet chocolate cake for a friend's birthday (a few days late, it was last week), and I'm busy being her commis.
