DESCRIPTION
A simple recipe for a pan release that is better than Pam. Developed on the Old KAF Baking Circle, this recipe has been around for several years.
SUMMARY
Yield 1 Container Source KAF Baking Circle File under Crisco, Flour, Grease, oil, pan grease
INGREDIENTS
1 cup AP Flour
1 cup Vegetable Oil
1 cup Shortening or Crisco
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine ingredients in plastic container and mix well until there are no lumps. An immersion blender works well for this. Store in the pantry or the refrigerator. The shelf life seems to be very long. Mold doesn't seem to be a problem, but one person has reported a problem with mold, so keeping it in the fridge is the smart thing to do.
This 'Pan Grease' can be made in any increments of 1:1:1. ie., 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup oil, 1/4 cup shortening. You can even do 1 tablespoon of each. It all depends on how much you are going to need. However, since it keeps indefinitely, making a larger amount and keeping it handy seems the smartest and easiest way to do it.
