Take a look at this pie. Frozen, ready to bake, it weighs 8-10 pounds. The price is $65.

That's quite a pie, kinda pricey though.

The thing is ten inches tall, I'm not sure it'd fit in most ovens.
It has 18 golden delicious apples!
Interesting--When I think of pie apples, I don't think of Golden Delicious.
Golden Delicious is actually a good pie apple. I think it's best to use 2 different apples though. Not that I always do.
I agree that Golden Delicious is a good pie apple (far superior to Granny Smith, which IMHO has gone downhill over the last few years), and it just nudged out Braeburn in Kenji Lopez-Alt's Apple PIe Test, but it is not as good as the elusive Winesap.
