INSTRUCTIONS
This book, by Margaret Johnson, was being featured in a "Jessica's Biscuit" website offering...this is being posted in response to a BC request for a brownie recipe utilizing Guinness Stout.
4 eggs
3/4 cup superfine sugar
8 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
4 oz white chocolate, chopped
6 TBS unsalted butter
3/4 cups a/p flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 1/4 cups Guinness Stout
confectioners sugar for dusting
1. Preheat oven to 375F, butter an 8x8 pan
2. Combine eggs, and sugar, mix until light and fluffy.
3. In a medium saucepan, melt the bittersweet, and the white chocolate, and butter, stir until smooth, remove from heat.
Mix chocolate mixture into beaten egg/sugar mixture.
4. Sift together flour and cocoa, beat this into the chocolate mixture, then whisk in the stout.
5. Pour into prepared pan, bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into center comes out almost clean.
Cool on rack, dust with confectioner's sugar, cut into squares.
