      Date Cookies

      Slice and bake refrigerator cookies
      Yield: 48 cookies
      Source: My Mom

      1 ¾ cup flour
      ½ tsp baking soda
      ¼ tsp salt
      ½ cup butter
      1 cup brown sugar
      1 egg
      ½ tsp vanilla
      ¾ cup dates
      ½ cup nuts

      Cream butter and sugar; add egg and vanilla, then dates and dry ingredients. Form into two logs, wrapping tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 8 hours. Slice 1/4" thick with sharp knife and bake 8-10 minutes at 375.
