Dinner on Fathers' Day was pecan-paprika coated boneless pork, roasted sweet potato chunks, and microwaved fresh broccoli from the farmers market. For dessert, I pulled out my last frozen cake, a small Chocolate Blood Orange Cake and the last of the frozen blood orange juice and glazed it.

I made a small pizza, sausage, mushrooms, red pepper, onion and calamata olives. Oh, it was good!
June 21, 2026 at 11:42 pm #49540I've been using some of the thin crust recipes in the King Arthur Book of Pizza, they're pretty good. But I use my own sauce recipe.
June 22, 2026 at 5:51 am #49545Your prime rib looks beautiful, Mike.
I made a chicken sandwich with rotisserie chicken, salad greens, a little mayo on my Multigrain English Muffin Toasting Bread (see baking thread) toasted.
June 22, 2026 at 7:15 pm #49548I agree Mike your prime rib dinner looks great!
I had leftover smoked pork tenderloin and had it on a sandwich.
June 22, 2026 at 7:47 pm #49549That was a yummy dinner, Mike!
On Monday, I roasted more sweet potato chunks to go with leftover pork from last night. We also had large side salads.
June 22, 2026 at 7:54 pm #49551I made chicken salad with the rest of the white neat from the rotisserie chicken and had it with some greens. Now I have a carcass for some chicken stock - one small batch is about all I can make right now - no heavy pot lifting yet😆
June 23, 2026 at 8:48 am #49554This was the first time I have done meat sous vide, though my son did a prime rib for us several years ago. I built a dry rub mix that worked pretty well, though I think I got a little too much rosemary in it, but I cooked it to 142 and that was a good point, not so rare my wife wouldn't eat it and not brown. I'll probably use this method again, but prime rib is not something I'm likely to make very often.
June 23, 2026 at 7:08 pm #49558I'm having tomato sandwich and a side of cucumbers for supper.
June 23, 2026 at 7:13 pm #49559I made my first batch of jam this season on Tuesday morning. Black Raspberry is my favorite. These berries came from our terrace. Scott has brought me some from the woods, and I also picked some from the side of the road when I took my walk yesterday and the day before. I hope that I will have enough for at least a second batch of jam.
I made Hamburger Stroganoff for dinner on Tuesday, which we had over a mixture of brown and wild rice, with fresh microwaved broccoli. The beef came from a local vendor at our farmers market.
June 23, 2026 at 8:24 pm #49562We had BLT's for supper tonight.
June 24, 2026 at 6:55 pm #49563We had more hamburger stroganoff and brown and wild rice, but we had microwaved frozen peas with it.
June 25, 2026 at 2:57 pm #49565Nice prime rib, Mike. My husband loved it and I would make it med rare a couple times a year.
Had salmon topped with mustard and scallions and zucchini. I wrap it in foil and bake for 28 minutes.
Got the KAF pizza book from the library and am very impressed. I plan on making the tonda/roman style dough that Mike made. Probably this weekend.
