      I've made Spaghetti and meat sauce Sunday,Ham,macaroni and tomatoes,corn and garden pea salad Monday,Yesterday I made Spanish rice with bread and butter and Banana Pudding the original way my mom always made it with meringue on top...so good.

        So far this week I've made chicken pot pie out of left over baked chicken and tonight we had Fried ham with rice and tomato gravy and garden pea salad.

          Sunday I made Lima bean soup out of leftover lima beans.Today I cooked buttermilk pancakes for breakfast and pork tenderloin,mac-n-cheese,and pole beans for supper.

            Heck yeah,ya'll come on.We'll have coffee or tea and cake.Love to do some front porch sitting or swinging!We use our front porch a lot! People wave or toot the horn!

              I baked these Banana Bars but baked 2-8 inch layers and it was very good and moist.This recipe is from Taste of Home:Debbie Knight,Marion,Iowa.
              Banana Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

              TOTAL TIME: Prep: 15 min. Bake: 20 min. + cooling MAKES: 36-48 servings
              Ingredients
              1/2 cup butter, softened
              1-1/2 cups sugar
              2 large eggs
              1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream
              1 teaspoon vanilla extract
              2 cups all-purpose flour
              1 teaspoon baking soda
              1/4 teaspoon salt
              2 medium ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
              FROSTING:
              1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
              1/2 cup butter, softened
              2 teaspoons vanilla extract
              3-3/4 to 4 cups confectioners' sugar

              1 each: 148 calories, 7g fat (4g saturated fat), 28mg cholesterol, 96mg sodium, 21g carbohydrate (16g sugars, 0 fiber), 1g protein.

              Directions
              Preheat oven to 350°/ In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in bananas.
              Spread into a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool.
              For frosting, in a large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually beat in enough confectioners' sugar to achieve desired consistency. Frost bars. Store in the refrigerator. Yield: 3-4 dozen.

              I had to bake these longer like 35 minutes at 350* since mine were in cake pans.This cake was so moist.

                  Nice bread RiversideLen,only thing I baked this week was a coffee cake with canned cherries on top drizzled with glaze.

                            Well today I made The Cornbread Cake that Rascals1 told us about.All I can say is bake it,it's so good and easy.Went right by the recipe.It had a taste almost like a pecan pie,made a real nice bar type of cake.So easy,no mixer needed.Sure was good with a cup of coffee.Thanks again for the recipe Rascals1.

                                CASS/KIDPIZZA The cake is even better today.I've had the recipe since you posted it back at the KAF forum.So glad I tried it!I've never folded in the flour like in your recipe but it sure worked.Happy here!I'm 62 years old and still learning all the time.

                                  Len your bread looks great!I made Cass/Kidpizza's Yellow Cake today and it is great.Went right by the recipe that is posted on this site.The crumb is so good and buttery,loved it.I wanted just a birthday cake with white buttercream icing and man is it ever good.I made it in 2 -8 inch pans and they stayed flat not all domed up.Looks nice.So I want to say thank you to Cass that's a great recipe.
