Instant Brands, the maker of the Instant Pot and the current owner of the Pyrex, Corelle and Corning Ware lines of kitchenware, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization.
I'm thinking that these were individual companies at one time? After being bought out several factory outlets carried these brands in their kitchenware stores. Now Factory Outlets aren't as popular as they once were as evidenced by the Rockvale outlets in Lancaster Pa. Too bad because I always liked Pyrex dishes.
I don't think recent Pyrex dishes are the same quality as the stuff from several decades ago, I've read multiple stories of Pyrex dishes that exploded in the oven. Many of the comments on the WSJ article mention this.
Instant Pot may have been one of the first products of its type, but it's a crowded field now, and demand may be saturated.
