      Glazes For Doughnuts
      submitted by PaddyL

      Chocolate glaze for doughnuts
In saucepan, melt together two 1-ounce squares semisweet chocolate and 2 tbsp. butter over low heat. Add 2 cups sifted powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla. Stir in 1/4 cup boiling water till mixture is smooth. Dip warm doughnuts in glaze, cool.

      Orange glaze for doughnuts
Add 1 tsp. grated orange peel and 3 tbsp. orange juice to 2 cups sifted icing sugar. Mix till smooth.
I'm still looking for the book with the honey glaze in it.

I've got a 'cooking with honey' book, I'll have to look for a glaze recipe there. I've never found a chocolate glaze that tastes like the stuff the bakeries use, though.

Mike, I saw some chocolate extract from Sonoma at T.J. Maxx. It said something about being what the bakeries use. I didn't buy it, since if I want chocolate flavor, by golly, I will put in chocolate, but I wonder if that is what is in the glazes.

I didn't see a honey glaze for donuts in my 'cooking with honey' book.
