I just found a small bottle of beef tallow in the local dollar tree. It looked intriguing so I purchased it with no idea what to do with it. Anyone ever use it?
Hi, Navlys. I have never used it but my nephew made soap with it and sent me some. Very soothing and makes your skin soft. I'll ask him if he does anything else with it.
I googled what to do with beef tallow and it says it has a high smoking point and you can sear steaks, use it in biscuits, saute stuff, etc. Let us know what you do with it.
My nephew uses it in cooking instead of oil or lard. Supposed to be healthy. He ordered half a steering from the butcher and asked for all the fat. He rendered it all into tallow. He's got more energy than me! 😆
I know nothing about beef tallow, Navlys, but I had to smile when you said it looked intriguing, so you bought it. That has often happened to me at T. J. Maxx and Ross.
I suspect that the health claims for beef tallow are overblown, to say the least.
Moderation in everything is the key.
