INSTRUCTIONS
Since everyone in the Circle has been so helpful, I thought I would share a wonderful recipe that came to me from my favorite aunt-it was her mother's recipe. Of course, Aunt Lill's cake always seemed to taste better than anyone's! It has a delicious crust and keeps beautifully in the frig.
2 sticks butter, softened
2 1/4 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 1/2 cups cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
Beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar, and continue beating until very fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating again after each.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. In a small bowl, combine milk and vanilla.
Alternately add dry ingredients and milk/vanilla to creamed mixture.
Spoon into prepared pan.
Bake about 55 minutes, or until tester comes out clean. Cool pan about 15 minutes.
