DESCRIPTION
Cinnamon Sticks. This delightful recipe is a favorite of my grandchildren. They keep well in a cookie jar.
SUMMARY
Yield 0 File under Cinnamon, muffins, Quickbreads, scones, sticks
INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup sugar
4 tspn cinnamon
6 1/2-inch-thick slices of homemade-type bread, crusts removed
and cut into 3 or 4 strips
(Store-bought day-old Texas Toast bread works well)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (or squeese type butter)
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a wide shallow bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon. Working with one strip of bread at a time, dredge strips quickly in the melted butter, coating on all sides and letting excess drip off. Then dredge in cinnamon sugar mixture, coating on all sides.
Place the strips in a jelly-roll pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Bake in the upper third of the oven for approximately 10 minutes.
