I'm trying to use up refrigerated food and freezer items as I'm going to Texas in a couple weeks for 5 days to visit and attend a baby shower for my granddaughter, so it was a grilled cheese sandwich and fruit with yogurt .I was gifted a lot of grapes and zucchini, I'll cook the zucchini later.

I lightly browned some thin pork chops and then simmered them in pasta sauce. Had it with rotini, green beans and cauliflower. The pork came out very tender.

I made yogurt on Friday. For dinner, we had more of the black-eyed peas with rice and ham.

My friends brought me a fish dinner today so that was my supper.

On Saturday, I used the Rubenette apples I bought from a local grower to make two recipes of apple filling for my apple sweet rolls. I had enough grated apple left over to also make a half recipe, which I will freeze to use in a braided bread. I love how well these apples work for the filling, and I still have a supply of Clear Jel. (Does it ever go bad? Mine is likely about nine years old.) I had hoped to pick up more of these apples at the farmers market today, but she did not have any.

For dinner, I roasted two large bone-in chicken breasts. I cut up some red potatoes, tossed them in olive oil, and let them bake along with the chicken. We also had microwaved fresh broccoli from the farmers market.

I spent most of the day turning a 5-gallon pail of tomatoes into soup. Finally, the end of the tomatoes! Two quarts will go with me to the NY Sheep and Wool Festival next weekend - there's nothing better than a bowl of hot soup after a long day in a cold barn.

I had chili, Diane had peanut butter and jelly on a Banh Mi hard roll.
